I'm on an overnight flight. Safe to say that nothing is going to be announced in the next 12 hours?Mike
Sorry for creating a new thread rather than simply chiming in here: (I am just beyond stoked):Tom Brady asks you to come to his town and offers to help get you settled and get to know everyone in Boston, our nation's cultural Mecca. Who the heck turns that down to return to Oklahoma City??? Brady is the only athlete in America bigger than LeBron, and he is asking Durant to come to Boston to displace LeBron as the best player in the NBA. Reports state Horford is re-signing in Atlanta and then as soon as the meeting with Durant ends, Horford signs with Boston. Let's not forget how hard OKC was trying to clear space to get Horford. It's clear that Durant wants Horford to be his Robin. All signs point towards Durant coming to Boston, perhaps as soon as he wraps up the meeting with Miami tomorrow.
There they all were though, walking down a sunny sidewalk Saturday afternoon on the way to recruit Kevin Durant. As captured in a viral photo taken on an phone by a surprised onlooker, the New England Patriots quarterback was deep in conversation with Danny Ainge and Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca, refining their presentation.Though several members of the contingent made their pitch, Brady had a special place in the presentation. He’s not just Durant’s favorite quarterback, but a player Durant has defended on Twitter against an army of critics during Brady’s most recent struggles with the league.“It was a good experience, a great trip,” said someone privy to the meeting. “Tom told him what it’s like to play in Boston, how special it is. Tough to judge how (Durant) took it, but we’ll see.”Durant, the free agent who is still likely to return to Oklahoma City for one more year before re-testing the market next summer, has heard a lot over the last two days, from Clippers owner Steve Ballmer breaking into tears, to the Warriors making a case that despite their excellence, there remains room for one of the most graceful scorers in NBA history. The Celtics were fifth in the six-team order, which also included a typically quick and efficient presentation by the Spurs Saturday morning and an initial presentation by the only team Durant has known – the Thunder. Miami was last in the batting order, behind the Celtics. But the Celtics had a very different weapon – Durant’s favorite quarterback. Durant has long admired Brady’s success, at one point last November responding to a Brady doubter with an emotional tweet. The doubter had tweeted that any quarterback could have won the four Super Bowls that Brady engineered. A bothered Durant tweeted back, “U a [dang] lie!!”So the Celtics had that going for them, as well as some fashion wear. Danny Ainge, who wore a pair of Durant’s signature Nike high tops to his son Crew’s engagement party earlier in the week, also wore them Saturday.Just in case Tom Brady wasn’t enough.

This thing could legitimately happen tonight. It's doubtful, but they've apparently been meeting for awhile now.
