More optimistic today after hearing this. Can't see him choosing Wizards over Celtics. Still concerned about OKC. It would be nice if he picks Celtics while they are meeting with Durant.

"Kevin: we just heard Horford is signing with us."

I wish I knew why you can't see him picking WAS over BOS. I wish I had your confidence. WAS has a better supporting cast and he gets to play the 4 instead of the 5.

WAS has a significantly worse supporting cast other than their best player being better than our best player. They also have zero flexibility to add additional talent. He can come here and just play whichever position he wants. It's not like we have a superstar power forward or anything.

Significantly worse?

Wall vs IT
Beal vs AB
Porter or Oubre vs Crowder
Morris vs Sullinger
Gortat vs Amir

I realize many of these parts may not be on either team now but how is that significantly worse?
Mainly coaching

Better move to WAS for Horford, plus if Westbrook leaves next year, KD's exit is an easy path to his hometown in DC.

Every player they have other than Wall is arguably equal or worse than our corresponding player. We have a deep bench while they have no bench. Our coach is Brad Stevens and theirs is Scott Brooks. We won more games and swept the season series.

I think Al has agreed to join Durant. The only question is whether it will be with us or in OKC.

Imagine how epic it would be to have them hold a joint press conference with IT to announce the new Big 3. It would instantly sell a ton of sneakers and jerseys, something that will not happen if they go to OKC (people already have their OKC Durant jerseys and sneakers).

If Hortford goes to okc, would you give a 2nd round pick for Kanter to help them clear cap room?

Um.. no.  I'd ask for a helluva nice pick(s) in return for doing so.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

The quality of each team's benches is the main difference.

You rarely see star players choosing teams because of someone's bench though.

I mean, we simply swept them over four games last season and made the playoffs when they didn't. We're clearly the better team, so there shouldn't be much to decide on.

I thought we punked the heck out of Wall and Washinton last season

They have no coaching  worth a nickel and barely any history of suscess .

Not sure how MIA can be better than us losing Deng & J Johnson and possibly Wade.

I think the randomness of Horford considering Washington is telling. Maybe Durant DOES like the idea of going home after all. It's either that or Horford in okc. I really can't see why they'd come here instead of to okc. Makes zero sense.

Don't worry. We lose out on Horford we'll bring in kris hunphries to eat into Olynyk's playing time. Or sign Sully. Lol

Wall is more talented but hasn't come close to leading a team to wins the way IT has.
Bradley is a better two-way player than Beal.
Crowder wins his matchup.
Morris is more consistent than Sully, not better.
Gortat is better but several years older than Amir.
Our bench and coach are far superior and we have a lot more assets to use for future improvement.

If it's simply Al deciding if he wants to be a starting center or a starting power forward my guess is he might prefer the latter. That does not make me happy.

Makes no difference on Celtics. 4-5 is the same. They need both, anyways.

Bingo!
That's why the C's aren't looking at big "aircraft carrier' type of centers, the C's have a style they're trying to gather players for.

Al Horford has informed the Hawks that he will make his final free-agent decision tonight. Celtics and Wizards are currently in the lead.

^retweeted by David Aldridge. Hawks are apparently no longer an option.
