#16, #45 For Thaddeus Young. Make it happen Ainge

need some $ going back to the Nets also.

Throw in Amir Johnson?
1. You don't (need $ going back), and
2. Amir Johnson is not a "throw-in".

How do we take on 12mil in salary for next year and not have to send something back?  I'm not a salcap expert by no means, but i thought we would have to.
Wait until July 1 and absorb the contract into cap space.

Thanks!

Is acquiring Young worth losing our ability to sign two max free agents?

Will you feel much better if we signed Horford and Evan Fournier for the max?

Durant and Horford. It may be unlikely, but IT seems to thing it's a real possibility. The likelihood becomes zero if we trade for Young.

Young is a surprisingly good post-iso guy who also hustles his way to points in transition. He's got good quickness defensively and good hands.

But teams just ignore him on the perimeter. He's not a great fit for us. Rather just stick with Jerebko/KO.

Happily facilitate a deal to get him out of BK though - he won a few games for them last year with his shot-making and hustle.

If you're starting him with Amir, he doesn't have to be on the perimeter. The question is how well a frontcourt that small can hold up in the daily NBA grind.

That's how I feel as well. Young is a very good player, but not the best fit for our team. Ainge should gladly volunteer to help the Nets out to move him somewhere else though.

By the way, if we acquire Noel tonight, the Durant and Horford signings actually become more likely, imo. Noel is a high-end rim protector that would allow Horford to play his preferred position of power forward. He also stretches the floor, while being an excellent defender himself. That lineup would actually be a pretty [dang] good surrounding cast for Durant, think about it -

PG: IT, Rozier
SG: AB, Smart
SF: Durant, Crowder
PF: Horford, JJ, Mickey
C: Noel, KO

That's a title-contending roster and one that is a perfect set-up to take down Cleveland.

So it looks like Young is going to the Pacers for No. 20. Indiana got Teague and Young for the 12 and 20? Doesn't that mean we should be able to get two BETTER players for No. 3 and No. 16?

This could be a long night ...
