If butler is on the table, we pick Dunn and trade for butler.  Might be Bradley and #3 for Butler and maybe Lopez

I believe Lopez would have to be dealt in a separate trade since he was just traded from New York, though I don't really want him anyways.

Weren't they enamored with Rozier?

Don't recall that.  The other team that was apparently into Rozier as much as the Celtics was the Cavs.

Nope, the Bulls loved Rozier and planned to take him if we hadn't.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Knicks to sign Dwight Howard to replace Robin Lopez ?

PG: D-Rose
SG: ?
SF: Melo
PF: Porzingis
 C: D-Howard

Looks a good fit to me. For both team and player. It would be great to see Dwight play in a real basketball town like NYC.

My head just went there too. Just find a low-usage 3 and D guy to soak up minutes at the 2.

TP - beat me to this. Seems like a good fit for both parties

This is a ECF big 3......Five years ago

This is such a Knicks move.

Addressing a position of need and clearing cap space.

Rose/Melo/Porzingis, plus $35-$40 mil in cap space this offseason.

You post that like Rose is actually an asset.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Oh, please let this happen. I can already see the disappointed faces of all the Knicks fans when that team loses in the 2nd round.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

So Howard would go from one extremely ball-dominant player to playing with two less but still highly ball-dominant players in Melo and Rose?

interesting, do you think Rose is ready to return to form? new start, with Melo and Howard could benefit being there too

Nah, I think D-Rose is done. Cannot defend anyone anymore and his ego is stopping him from being an effective player. Cannot accept transition to a role player instead of star. Still wants to take 15-20 shots a night. Still thinks the team should revolve around him.

I don't think it will work well there but it can be the start of something. Melo, Dwight and Porzingis. Replace D-Rose in 2017 FA with a different guard. Knicks could get back to being a 50+ win team then. In the meantime (next season), Dwight and Hornacek could get NYC back into the playoffs.

Not saying it's a smart move. But it's a very Dwight Howard move.

Rose is still a starter in this league and a upgrade over Calderon.   Grant is the wild card in this trade.

If Rose can stay healthy Knicks will make the playoffs and a streaky Melo with a match up nightmare in Porzingas is awesome.

You're a cockeyed optimist. I don't think that roster even makes the playoffs.

Howard is likely to be on the "worst contracts in the NBA" list in about two years. Rose already is. :)

If I'm the Bulls, I trade Jimmy Butler. I don't think his value increases on a team in flux next year and they're not building a contender for the foreseeable future. If they like Dunn as reported, the deal with the Celtics just makes sense, more so now with the gaping hole at PG where a gaping hole masquerading as a player once was.

Butler is going to have nothing to work with.....

Does #3 to Chicago make more sense now???

Itd be classic Knicks tho.

So many big names on that roster. I see them as a 4-6 seed. Perhaps better or worse depending on what happens with the rest of the east.
