I'd love for Green to win Finals MVP after being suspended this game  and then come in after the win and just blast the NBA for this.

Lol, TP.  That would be great ;D.

Green is dirty.  Should have been suspended for the Adams groin hit, and have no issue with his groin hit on James being called a flagrant as it was a flagrant foul.  If he wasn't so dirty the flagrant wouldn't have gotten him suspended.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Except it wasn't a flagrant foul, that is a technical foul.  Anything resulting from an altercation between two players is considered a technical foul.

But Green needed two techs to get a suspension and only 1 flagrant foul point to get suspended, easy to see why the NBA went against protocol and assigned it as a flagrant.

But that's the NBA, they make this stuff up as they go, and always have.

Exactly.  Of course, the NBA's rationale is that it was a live ball foul and not a dead-ball one, but it was ridiculous that the whistle wasn't blown after Green was pushed to the ground right in front of the refs, and even moreso after the obvious LeBron taunt immediately thereafter.

They should have suspended him for the Adams hit, but you can't make up for it two weeks later.

Sure you can, they just did.

Why are people arguing for Green?

His reckless behavior for the entire playoffs has been on display, eventually he's going to get suspended. Being so concerned about the technicality of whether it should have been a tech or a flagrant 1 is strange. The idea that he should have suspended earlier but not now is weird to me.

I guess that is my point.  Green has been picking up flagrant fouls consistently.  He is the dirtiest player in the NBA and frankly I don't think it is close.  He is a punk, plain and simple.  He deserved to be suspended for his antics.

This is not true:

Quote
A flagrant foul is unnecessary and/or excessive contact committed by a player against
an opponent whether the ball is dead or alive.

A technical foul is for unsportsmanlike behavior there is a large area of overlap. A altercation between players can be flagrant fouls, technical fouls, punching fouls, etc.

The whole altercation was a textbook definition of a double-technical. And yet, the officials took several minutes to look at the tape in the middle of the game and decided it was nothing.

I just don't understand the way the league is officiated nowadays.

Highly situationally, and it's not new.  Part of the problem is that the more open nature of basketball means there's a wider array of contact that can happen.  Means the rules on contact have to be vague, which adds a lot of subjectivity as well.

Hopefully Bogut and Iggy WIll play out of their minds and end this series. I think this will Motivate GSW. It should be good drama tonight. And, Yes the NBA makes things up as they go along.

I think LeBron was trying to start something with Green all game long. He knew what he was doing.

Probably disappointed that Green didn't do anything more egregious, but the Cavs were apparently able to lobby the NBA for what they needed anyway.

Good call.  And then, Lebron didn't even notice the hit.  He had to see it on film.  You can't give a flagrant for something a guy doesn't even feel (unless you throw a wild punch at someone's head that misses I guess).  This was a tap during a tangle.  Dumb time to call a flagrant.

I watched the play over and over again, regardless of your opinion on what the NBA did here one thing is incontrovertible LeBron reacted to something it was probably the hit to his groin area or perhaps something that Green said but he was turning his head before Green was in standing position.

Brian Windhorst has said Lebron didn't know about it until he showed him on his phone after the game in the locker room. He just got his feelings hurt, as Klay Thompsom said.
After seeing the video, he used the incident in his press conference to get Green suspended.

I don't like or respect thugs like Draymond Green

Does anyone else have a problem with people referring to African Americans as thugs? I do. Call him a dirty player. Provide some links. Say look at what he did on that play.

But please don't refer to African Americans as thugs.
