I could see Danny taking Bender with #3 or consolidating picks by trading to move up and take Bender at #3.  Heck, I could see him moving up to #2 and taking Bender.

So can I. Danny isn't a good drafter.
care to prove this without the flawed approach of 20/20 hindsight? that is, if you want to say ainge is not a good drafter since he missed players x, y, and z. then please do so for other teams and see what you wind up with.

here at cb, this was done for san antonio (who did they miss? who did they pick?) and it clearly showed that SA is run by buffoons and assclowns largely incapable of spotting late draft stars.  ::)

instead, let's use a study that showed a more effective way to measure a GMs draft skills. the study showed it is better to compare the league wide percentage of successful nba players (stars, average player, bench player, out of nba) pegged to when they were drafted (1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 2nd round).

then, using this, compare how GMs have done. ainge, by the way, came out looking very good for the spots in the draft the team held. he was above the nba average.

Why is Bender a lock for the number 3 pick on almost all draft boards (at least a week ago). Yet, no one wants him on CB?

Because we've seen about 17 minutes of him on YouTube and aren't overly impressed. I'm assuming that the guys who are paid to do this have more insight than I do and see something I don't.

Because of our experience with Dino Radja.  And the 17 minutes of youtube video and his current stats.  Good lord.

If Celtics get 3rd or worse I actually would love Boston to draft Buddy Hield or Kris Dunn since we are in desperate need of 3 point shooting. Those are also bigger, NBA ready guards.

murray shot 40.8% from three point territory, which is not exactly chopped liver. that puts him a bit below hield in 3 point percentage and a bit above dunn.

so you might want to add him to your short list.

I actually like Jamal Murray as well as he has nice perimeter shooting, is a bigger guard and didn't seem scared in big moments. If Ainge drafted him I would love it as well.

Hard to get excited about Hield, when he has a lot of potential to be Jimmer Fridette 2.0.
