The dude says he wants to be in the podium ( winning a title) . That's not happening here.

Dwight is on a PR circuit. He was on Russillo and Kanell this afternoon.

dwight howard was gracious  and did not try and make excuses or deflect
he knows and listened to what he has to do-he will opt out
and he is intent on getting his body in best physical shape -this interview was so intense and good that they skipped commercials-howard maybe be a steal, as barkley explained how easy it is to dis engage when playing with james harden vs san antonio style
-dwight did himself a big favor for doing this and allowing such probing questions-hope somebody puts this up
-because the press creates a monster-

To me I don't change much of my criticism (still have issues and I have thought the Rockets don't use him well).  The reality I think was a guy who is really a whipping boy in the internet age looking really human in front of everyone on TV.  This is a brutal time to be a guy like Dwight.

Ultimately he is a guy with feelings like you and me and however Dwight Howard acts, he sounds worn down by the criticism.  Worrying about how he smiles was a big aspect in that regard.  On one hand you feel bad for a guy for having to worry about smiling but then on the other you know Dwight still always has that attitude about him.  That has not changed after this interview.

Also, do not sweep the Lakers under the rug.  That entire fiasco has been swept under the rug when in reality it was an insane disaster.

Dwight could be a good signing for a good price but I hope we do not sign him.

But how much of the Lakers fiasco is on Howard and how much is it on Kobe and the Laker organization?

He takes a lot of the blame but what has that team done since he left?

I was impressed by Howard and how he handled getting grilled.  First time I've ever seen Charles and Co. go after someone like that.

There's plenty of blame to go around.  I'd be more willing to forgive the LA circus if it wasn't wedged in between the Orlando circus and the Houston circus.

Orlando circus and Houston circus?  Orlando made the NBA finals and the Rockets made the Western conference finals LAST YEAR.  They lost to the eventual NBA champion Golden State Warriors.

Bring that circus to town!

And, subsequent to those runs, Dwight was involved in a 2 year circus in Orlando that involved him undercutting one of the better coaches in the NBA, followed by a year-long circus in Houston where he pouted, was disinterested, and was isolated from his teammates.

And let's not forget: Orlando made the Finals in '09 only because KG was injured.

A lot of the Houston "circus" is due to Morey following the failed strategy of trying to accumulate stars without giving proper care to fit and the rest of the roster.

Sure.

And giving Dwight $31 million to be a "star" on the Celtics would be equally disastrous.   His pay would be disproportionate to his production, and we'd be handcuffed in terms of adding other good players.

Is this just your opinion of can you provide evidence that he pouted, was disinterested, and was isolated from teammates?  I haven't heard anyone but Charles Barkley claim he was disinterested to which Dwight replied he had taken himself out of games and situations when he was frustrated.  I can only remember Dwight taking himself out of a game once, in LA, when he had a torn labrum in his shoulder.

Also, do you realize that Houston took almost 31 threes per game this year?  They were second in the NBA in three point attempts (to only Golden State) yet ranked 22nd in the league in 3 point field goal percentage.  Was Houston's problem this year a Dwight Howard problem or were they just a poor shooting team that wouldn't stop jacking up threes and refused to adjust?
