  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Dude can still ball.
If we think about his health in the last 5 years, this will probably be his healthiest off season in the last 5 years or so. No injuries or lingering back issues. Could be a huge year for him if he stays healthy come playoffs.

He'd sure look awesome running that pick and roll with IT and defending behind our All NBA perimeter defense.
Brad would run him so many easy plays to keep his scoring hunger satisfied.

Health is the biggest factor- even more than mental attitude. I think he does care about winning, but he's also always cared way too much about what other people think.

As he gets older he'll care less about image and more about the important things in a short NBA career.

It's pretty funny to think about a Celtics starting 5 of:

IT
Jimmy Butler
Kevin Durant
Jae Crowder
Dwight Howard.

with Smart or Avery off the bench.
A defensive juggernaught with rebounding, paint protection and perimeter protection and 3 point shooting.
Wow.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

He was a star that is now struggling not being the main star. Kind of reminds me of when Ray Allen took his ball to south beach. I can see Howard choosing a team that wants him to be the man.
Portland would be perfect for him. IMO

Feel like he wiukd have issues with dame and CJ just like he does harden

Wow.

KD and Howard aren't big fans of each other. I doubt you get either if they know you're planning to sign the other.

Howard/Love combo.
Howard/Paul George combo.

Howard via free agency of course, the others via trade.

As someone who has never liked Howard and always thought his whole personality is shtick, I honestly felt bad for him last night. He took serious abuse from Barkley, Shaq via Twitter and other NBA players. (Gortat? really?)

Am surprised he was so unprepared to answer the hard questions. Really have to question his agent for putting him in this position, for Dwight in wearing the Superman pin while sitting in Shaq's seat and his answers.

I think his appearance will cost him some money this fall

It doesn't phase me at all when morons say the right things.  From Howard to Larry Sanders and Royce White.  Some guys  are just good at this stuff.

Dwight can still play, which is why I would still consider signing him for the right price. He would essentially solve the big man issue that we are dealing with right now.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

I like what Barkley said about him beginning the back nine of his career and how he should choose carefully. Boston anyone?

Injuries aside, with all the new $ coming in we should definitely consider signing him. The way our team plays defense, a rim protector could be very valuable.

Also- I know they are totally different players, but getting Howard feels a lot like when ATL got Milsap (talent wise). He's that extra splash that helps us grow. Not the star we all hope for, but a star in his own right, and adding him could elevate us to a team worthy of signing another bigger star.

Plus him and guy smiley (IT) will lead the league in smiles per game ;D

Would you consider lumping Dwight with two guys who aren't even in the NBA moronic?

signing him seems a lot more realistic than Durant at this point. Danny even said something not long ago about getting a shot blocker.
I used to hate him but now he seems like hes down and motivated to prove people wrong. could be a good time to bring him in.
personally the interview did change my opinion a bit and i'm warming up to the idea that he may be a realistic and good target FA.
I think at this point you sign him to be a good player, a good center. not a superstar franchise type player.
if thats all you're expecting him to be, a good piece, not the man, then i think it could work out well.

I thought he handled the flurry of barbs pretty well. He was humble.

Unlike Sully, all he is focused on is making his body the best its ever been. Cant call this guy fat or lazy (like Shaq). He may lack offensive polish, leadership, FT % and be in physical decline (down from the absolute physical apex one can be blessed with, that us) but he still brings alot to the table that we dont have.

I guess he turned me a but last night. Kind of rooting for him now. But the #'s will never work unless Danny gets sneaky.

I will say it again, Howard has matured since a couple of seasons now.
He no longer lives in Krypton, he's on earth and aware.
I think he will be great in Boston.
My big concern is his knees. Can they be healthy in each post season?
Because Howard will be an important key to win any series in the playoffs.
Another player I think would be great here is Ibaka. Suitable for a modern small ball type of play.

Dwight is not my first choice but the guy would be a huge upgrade over Amir.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.
