He had a great game, I hope he can maintain it.  He has always been elite in this area, I liked that he played D and did not have a flop fest.   Correspondingly, the refs treated him better.

this summs Smart up: tweet from Forsberg
Marcus Smart’s final line as primary defender: Hawks were 1-of-10 shooting, 2 points, 2 TO. (Baze 0-3, Korver 0-1, Thabo 0-1, Millsap 1-5)

Does anyone know the general trade value on a DPOY?

They don't get traded.  No Kawhi for us.

In his press conference, Brad had no expectation that it would be in the next game or two.

Does anyone know the general trade value on a DPOY?

What was the trade value of past DPOY winners in their prime? Marcus Camby, Diekembe Mutombo, Dwight Howard, Kwai Leonard, Marc Gasol, Joakim Noah, and Kevin Garnett?

I'd say pretty darn high, and Smart hasn't even approached his prime yet.

Smart is shooting 38% from 3 for the series.  He's made some terrific passes.  His defense is All-NBA.

And he's 3 months younger than Buddy Hield.  His best is yet to come.

I scream "NOOOOO" every time Marcus shoots a three and he's been proving me deathly wrong in these last two days. Hopefully this isn't just another false dawn.

I really hope we don't rush our rebuild and do anything drastic to bring in a "star".

Earlier in the year I heard suggestions of Smart and a pick for Noel... this would be a huge mistake

I see Smart on a Kawhi Leonard trajectory with developing as a defender first and then learning offensive skills.

And that's why Smart is actually the best defender on the team.  He was unreal on Korver and Millsap.  Crazy he can cover both.

Loved his offense.  Really excited.  This is the All-Star player I have always hoped he can be.

like stevens said postgame marcus did a great job but he also may have caught him at a good time. eluding to the fact that milsap was probably a little tired.

I hope they don't go into Atlanta thinking they've "figured him out". I still think Crowder needs to defend him a majority of the time but they could switch marcus on him in the final mins of each half.

unbelievable game by marcus either way though. that stretch he had we're he pretty much won the game for us I hope is a prelude to what to expect from marcus.

We get a top 2 pick in the draft and we could def trade that for Cousins and also get a TE. Because of the 2 top players in the draft we have the opportunity to literally just trade the pick, but we would be taking on Cousins for 2 signed years and he could always not pan out/behavior(IMO he would be great here).

Then we sell Durant on signing here.......bam, best team in the East/ league and best bench. We could also sign Ibaka/Westbrook in 2017 summer.

Dat 6 for 16, I'm telling you. Let's just ignore the previous 240 threes he took this season (he made 25% of them, in case  you wondered).
