be so nice to have Ab back as well defending with smart.

Welcome back, Lep....TP!

Go Cs!!!

thanks buddy! how bout that brad stevens? helluva coach eh? nothing but role players to an extent. wait til we draft or sign a star. guy can coach. has gotten better each year. we are in year 3 of the rebuild. we told everybody it would be 3 years minimum for the rebuild. as much as 5. might take 5. maybe more. beats being in nba hell for 20 years.
We get a top 2 pick in the draft and we could def trade that for Cousins and also get a TE. Because of the 2 top players in the draft we have the opportunity to literally just trade the pick, but we would be taking on Cousins for 2 signed years and he could always not pan out/behavior(IMO he would be great here).

Then we sell Durant on signing here.......bam, best team in the East/ league and best bench. We could also sign Ibaka/Westbrook in 2017 summer.
Can you imagine that lineup:
Thomas rozier
Bradley Smart
Durant Crowder
Olynyk Jerebko
Cousins whoever

Holy cow.

Korver was tossing bricks tonight, thankfully.

Marcus was nuts. Really didnt look that small on milsap. He is a load. Bull. What a game!
a large part of that was because he wasnt getting into his favorite spots and positions. smart just denied him the ball and position. then his last shots he had to run and was moving sideways quite a bit when he shot. hard for even him to make those.

credit the defense tonight.
A large part because Millsap is really... not that big. Hate to rain on everyone's parade, but Millsap is 6'7, which is smaller than many SFs these days.

I scream "NOOOOO" every time Marcus shoots a three and he's been proving me deathly wrong in these last two days. Hopefully this isn't just another false dawn.
He still isn't a good shooter, but we have no choice against ATL's defense. The outside shots are all they are giving up.

He still has 5 inches on Smart.  And a lot of taller players can't guard him.

ESPN has Milsap at 6'8" and Smart at 6'4"
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Marcus Smart was measured at 6'2 without shoes at the combine
Milsapp measured 6'6.25.

Last time I checked, they played with shoes. Draftexpress has Marcus Smart at 6'4 with shoes, and he was also listed at 6'4 in the media guide last time I was at a Celtics game. Millsap is 6'7.25 with shoes.

Bottom line is that Millsap is not as big as you may think he is. Certainly comparable in length to some of the SFs Smart has already guarded this season.

I misread it it and thought Milsap was 6'6.75.  Still a size able difference, especially adding in Millsaps wingspan.

Does it matter? He went off for 45 but Marcus played a big role in limiting him down the stretch. Don't give me that "fatigue" stuff or whatever. Why can't you appreciate what Marcus did? It's like a complete mission to diminish everything good he does while making everything bad that he does into a gigantic issue.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

Smart is such a good player in crunch time.  That follow up tip in (after bonehead play by turner) was epic.

defensively and 4th quarter/OT,  Smart was HUGE

Incredible motor. 6th pick justified

He will become a better pro in time  and make those open shots in the regular season sooner than later.  But he already has something even better right now, which is coming through in crunch time

In truth, the bar for anything to pass as a "diminishing" comment in this thread isn't very high. I mean, I'm just sitting here badmouthing a guy who's a lock to be the DPOY and NBA MVP for the next 10 seasons or so, right?

Sure. Marcus Smart had a fantastic game and it worked great for us. Also, he's likely to not be as good next game because, well, the overall body of work usually doesn't lie.

The combine measured Smart at 6'3.25 and NBA predraft camp measured Milsapp at 6'7.25.

Milsapp is undersized. Everyone knows this. If you asked a room full of fans their heights I doubt you would have gotten a number above 6'9" and most would have said 6'7 or 6'8". Point is, I listed heights. I wasnt tryna make a big statement about Milsapp being tall or anything.
