I just finished watching the game, but I didn't see the IT elbow everybody is talking about.  When did that happen?

I don't think there was an elbow. The incident which might get him suspended was the "punch" in the first quarter. Every credible NBA writer on Twitter seems to think a suspension is coming.

Just finished watching the game on dvr - what a performance by IT. With Korver and Teague hitting on all cylinders, this was a great win. Whether or not we win the series isn't a huge deal, but this win means a lot and shows the progress we've made...especially with the injuries.
Can you imagine if we had Bradley and Crowder completely healthy? This would be a completely different series. I could easily see us being up 2-1 right now.

Link? I saw small slap that's nothing more than maybe a small fine but a punch?

The NBA would be essentially taking an All-Star out of the game. I can't see it. Durant just got a T  for taunting retroactively, and then they let this elbow go with no word on it: https://twitter.com/anthonyVslater/status/723605629554810880?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw.

I'm guessing a technical foul, but I highly doubt that they're taking the guy who just scored 42 points on national tv out of a playoff game. That'd seemingly cost them a lot of revenue.

So Schroeder even tweeted about it then deleted it. I don't see how they're calling this a "punch." It was more of a Stockton slap if anything.  ;D

Still don't see them suspending an All-Star in Game 4 of the playoffs after he just put up 42 on national television.

Given how our luck has been in this series so far, I'm bracing myself for the inevitable.

Really? Is this true? I just don't see it. IT threw a half-hearted slap to get Schroder off his game; it's not like he wound up or was starting a fight. All of the head-shots on the flagrant-1s tonight were clearly more impactful.

I agree, but I'm not sure the NBA is going to see it this way, and people who know more about the NBA than most of us seem to think this too.

Stu Jackson: in my mind he will get suspended for one game

He knows a thing or two about these kind of things, this would really suck.

Thomas was phenomenal.

Major props to Jerebko, Turner and Johnson as well, though.   Smart had a solid game off the bench.

The more I read and the more I look at it, the more worried I get. The NBA likes to overreact to these kinds of things, though I believe Silver was in attendance at tonight's game.

But what might save us is the fact that three other flagrants were called for the same type of thing - unnecessary contact to the head. So hopefully they'll see the trend set in the game for calling a flagrant 1 and either give him that or a T with a fine.

  • The Truth
- i remember screaming "EVAN, what are you doing!!!!!!" for like the most of the 4th qtr(regarding his stupid stupid stupid TO's)
- the refs are killing us, a non call on Jonas a clean foul with no contact on the ball, the Korver 4 point play, a clear illegal screen by Horford, and a lame bail out call on Joans fouling Sefolosha

IT is incredible
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

It's amazing how much a difference a great start can do... and how the energy from the crowd helped them making shots they missed in Atlanta!

I think my heart dropped a couple of times in the 4th quarter, especially when I felt that the first team to miss the next shot (when they exchanged buckets) would lose the game... knowing we had Smart in "bad decision-making mode", I was worried.

Great game for IT, I'm glad he got along the best Celtics' individual performances in history. That was his answer to people saying he doesn't bring it in the playoffs - he did bring it tonight! And the crowd was awesome.

And I'm also really relieved that we finally got our first playoff win under CBS. I think that's a huge monkey off our backs. I'm not saying we will win the series but having this huge pressure off could have a liberating impact.

PS : Crowder is really hurting us, I'm not sure he can bring his mojo (or simply his shooting touch) back in this series.

I think Crowder is no where close to healthy. High ankle sprains usually don't heal in 2 weeks. You can tell something is off with him.
