Some misunderstanding here.
I am not saying he would have helped us.
I'm saying we should not have helped Dallas because we own their pick.

The sky is failing.  Gimme a break, he was horrible here.   One decent game, does not mean he will play that way the rest of the season.   For one thing, his body is rested, once the grind kicks in again, I think he will be back to his diminished form.

Years ago he was one of my favorite players . I was super happy he was coming to Boston at first.

I have always found his D, to be pathetic.  He was a good offensive player.

Just how has DLee helped Dallas?

Seriously?

You'd have to be pretty ignorant to think we traded Lee because he was horrible and played poorly for us.

We traded him/didn't play him because he didn't fit what Brad wanted to do.

We can find offense else-where, but AJ is our only defensive PF, Kelly is our only stretch PF, we like giving Crowder/Jerebko significant PF minutes, and Lee is less effective at the C position.

Lee also like to play in the paint, and Brad likes to keep the paint spaced out for IT, Crowder, ET, etc.

He actually played extremely solid in the few intermittent minutes we gave him in Boston.  For a guy who never knows when he'll get thrown into a game and be asked to contribute, he did about as good as you can ask.

Not like we brought in Lee to use him on this young growing team anyway.  We just wanted to get rid of Wallace.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

No he did not.  He was terrible around the rim and he was not defending.  Let's not pretend he played well for us even when he did play.

I do not think he's a bum or anything but he just was bad.  And he was in fact given a big chance at the start of the year.  They were letting him initiate the offense a lot and basically be a point forward and he did not deliver.

I could care less what he's doing elsewhere. he didn't want to be here and that's apparently why he couldn't finish at the basket while he was here.

14 points and 14 rebounds in 25 minutes for Dallas.

I thought he played well as a Celtic.  I know the plus/minus numbers didn't bear that out, but as far as I could tell, he is still a significant offense talent.  He's not a good defender, but he is a good rebounder who tries hard.

I wish him well in Dallas.

I think OP's point is that, even if Lee did not play well here (which I agree with), we should not have released him, knowing that he could help another team holding one of our first round picks.  I agree.

My favorite moment was when the Mavs announcer said Lee was blocked 3x on one play. First by the rim, then by Gallo (when he sprained his ankle), and then by Barton I think. The guy has no lift at all anymore and used to be all about his sneaky explosiveness around the rim.

i'd rather focus on the team on the floor and I'm assuming Danny is too. thinking about what other teams may or may not do as far as who we should keep or cut is a horrible way to run a team.

the guy didn't want to be here. he wasn't going to help us because he could never play well weather it was because of desire, ability, or fit is debatable, but ultimately moot. it was a bad signing, if you need more proof? we cut him when Olynyk got injured...we sure could have used someone to fill in in his absence.

move on.
