David Lee as a Celtic:

On the court
Offensive Rating          Defensive Rating          Net Rating
95.4                            99.3                             -4.0

Off the court
Offensive Rating          Defensive Rating          Net Rating
105.4                          100.3                           +5.1

Case closed.

(note, off the court numbers include post all star break stats, i dont know how to get just pre all star stats, if someone wants to help thatd be great.)
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

It's one game and a much different system he's playing in. I'm not losing sleep over it.

PG: Chris Paul, Fred VanVleet
SG: Ray Allen, OG Anunoby, Zach Lavine
SF: Paul Pierce, Gordon Hayward

Never lost faith in David Lee. IMO consistency has never been his problem just opportunity.

That being said there wasn't opportunity here so we were right to waive him. Good for David, good for the Mavs, good for us.

Been saying all season that David Lee can still play.  His per-minute numbers were the same as they always have been.   He didn't fit our system.  Weak defensively and no 3-point shot is a bad mix for what we were doing.

In what system does a poor defensive big that can't shoot fit in?  If a big has 1 of those qualities in today's NBA it becomes increasingly more difficult to win those minutes he is on the floor.  If he has both of those qualities you might as well forget about trying.  Dallas was getting thumped while he was on the floor and he posted the worst defensive rating on the team at 133.4.  Denver went small and Lee posted some pretty empty stats, nothing more.  He was being guarded by the likes of Miller, Arthur and Faried.  Gallo got hurt late in the 3rd, no Nurkic and Jokic only played 10 minutes.

Just remember that every time you mention we should trade for Okafor.

If he put up those numbers here he'd still be here.  Never more disappointed in a player I thought would be so good for the team.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I couldn't believe there wasn't some sort of agreement out there that he wouldn't join the Nets or Mavs. Simply put, they would not have won last night's game without Lee and that one game could easily make a difference in the standings. Absolutely horrible decision to just buy him out (for essentially his whole contract anyway!)

Years ago he was one of my favorite players . I was super happy he was coming to Boston at first.

Easy to see why the Warriors unloaded him ,  he was a good team mate , but the guy had so little basketball left to give on court .

It was shocking to see him play so poorly.  He was playing like a 40 year old.
