Very Happy.

Brown is the high pick with superstar potential we earned from the Brooklyn trade. If we lose out on the Simmons/Ingram pick, I'd be happy with Brown or Hield. Even Rabb if we get #5-6.

Valentine looks like he could be Turner's replacement (a point guard in a sg/sf body) but he can actually shoot too.

Hoping any of Stone, Jones, Zimmerman, or Ellenson fall to us with our pick around #20. The first three are true centers while Ellenson could be something similar to KO.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I voted NO but I do not hate this draft outcome I just think better option will be available. I like Browns potential and think with proper development he can be a Derozen type wing player. Valentine I really like and think he will help a team from day 1.

Looking at DXs recent updated mock and assuming the Cs land the #4, #16, #22, #31 and #35 (not counting the 3 picks in the 50s)

Using their mock I would draft the following,

#4 Bender his skill level and versatility could make him a franchise player even if he is never a go to offensive option. The fact that he may stay overseas I view as a positive for the Celtics. My next guy at this pick would be Poeltl who I see as a long term starting Center.

Then attempt to use 16+22+35 to move up to #12

#12 Timothe Luwawu the more I research this kid the better a prospect he looks. 6'7 7'2 wingspan high level athlete known as a good and intense defender who is consistently improving as a shooter.

#31 Nigel Hayes home run this late in the draft I will be shocked if he doesn't go in the 20s. Has the perfect game and size to play PF in a spread system. At 6'6.5 without shoes and a 7'3.5" wingspan he is actually taller and longer then Draymond Green or Paul Milsap. He isnt nearly the rebounder those two are but coming out of college his face up offensive game seems comparable if not more advanced.

I would be fine drafting Bender and stashing him, if he has the highest ceiling available. I really only want two or three rookies max on the roster next year, so Bender is a great fit.

I'd be so happy if we could trade up like you mentioned. After last year though, I'm not getting my hopes up. If we traded up to 12 I'd want Davis, Labissiere or Rabb, 3 athletic/long guys that can block shots.

I love Hayes as well, I think Wisconsin will make a run in the tournament and he will move up.

Ellenson is not like KO.

He has a standing reach of 9'1. He's very long.

But KO has a better handle and more lift. Probably also quicker.

Also, unless Ellenson loses more weight or adds muscle and quickens up, he will probably have to play Center. He'll get burned by stretch fours.

Ellenson is ten times the player Olynyk was at the same age, he's currently 19 while Olynyk came out when he was 22.

Ellenson is going to be a lotto pick, I don't see us getting him unless we trade up though.

I like Valentine's game but I'm not getting the Turner comparisons. I don't see him being able to create off the dribble the way turner can. I see him more in the vain of a Danny Green.

Not saying he doesn't have any skills.

Just saying he's a different player.

First selection Jaylen Brown Cal. Freshman 16ppg 5 RPG best athlete in the draft 19 years old. Small Forward.

Second pick Denzel Valentine SF/SG/PG Amazingly well rounded player who can shoot pass and Dribble only drawback is Defensive Upside, although a rock solid team defender Michigan State product. 22 years old 20 ppg 8 RPG 7 apg. Triple double machine.

Last pick we move up to select Damion Jones Center Vanderbilt 20 years old. 14 ppg 7rpg 2 bpg. If y haven't seen him check him out. NBA athlete about 6'10" has midrange game good defender too.

I do like the Jones pick but I think brown is just another great athlete who will 5\never make it in the NBA... His skill set is based on his athleticism... terrible shooter 60%FT, 28% three... most of his scoring is making his own shot against inferior defenses..

BK pick... Simmons or Ingram .. I like Bender but way to far of a project so I would hope for a trade if the first 2 dont play out..

Mid picks Grayson Allen... dude is an improved version of Bobby Sura ... attacks the rim with efficiency, shoots the 3, scrappy D, hits the big shots

Jones.. as stated

Yeah I don't see him being able to snake his way through the defense like Turner can.

He certainly can't create off the dribble like Turner, but I think he can pass in the pick and roll similar to how Turner does.

I don't get the Turner comparisons because Valentine is a knock down 3 point shooter.

If we end up drafting fourth I think this is a great outcome, but I'm hoping to draft higher than that so at this point those picks wouldn't make me happy.

If we are picking fourth if probably prefer a trade than picking Brown but would be fine with Jaylen as a fall back option. I would also prefer packaging picks to move up like a writer suggested here http://www.thebirdwrites.com/2016/2/23/11081096/2016-nba-draft-new-orleans-pelicans-trade-back-options-ben-simmons-buddy-hield-denzel-valentine

I also might prefer a stash to Jones or Valentine.

I love that trade, but I don't think NO does. This may be a weak draft, but you're still trading #7 for 17 and 22, as it stands now. If that happened, we'd be getting #5 and #7 (as things stand now).

A lot of people have mentioned the biggest "problem" we have: We have eight draft picks, including three first-rounders and either the first or second pick in the second round. How the heck is Ainge going to get value out of all those picks? It's not like the other GMs don't know that Ainge has to get rid of some. That's why I think Ainge floated the "big trade" rumor after the trade deadline; he has to do something to put a bid under those picks.

My biggest hope for draft night is somebody gets a jonesing for some player who has slid, either to 5 or to the Dallas pick, and is willing to overpay to get them. I'd happily roll forward one of our picks to 2017.

Mike

There are some players worth moving up for in the draft. If we can package the Mavs and our pick to move up to the 10th to 12th pick, we can grab Davis from Mich St. He's very raw from not getting a lot of plays called for him but he has all the tools. Great length. Nice touch. Athletic big. Quickness.

He could be a real steal.

Yeah I think it might be a little low on NO's side as well. I would 100% be willing to add mulitple seconds to that package and include Amir Johnson or Jerebko.

We would actually have 4 and 7 as it stands now, not 5.

My hope is that a team who doesn't have a first is willing to trade us their 2017 pick for our pick or Dallas'.

At 7 getting Heild would be a godsend, he would absolutely fill it up in our system.
