Again it's an upside pick. He's 19 right now, I think he will be better than MKG overall who was the #2 pick.
Who would you rather have if Simmons, Ingram, Bender are gone.
It's really tough to say. Once Simmons and Ingram are off the board, it becomes really hard to choose who to pick.
I think I'd put Brown in my back pocket as a fall back option and then take a good hard look at bigs like Poeltl, Ellenson, Rabb, Skal, and Davis. Is there reason to think they might have higher upside than currently thought? Could they thrive in the Celts' system?
I'd have to also think really hard about Kris Dunn. Drafting yet another guard would be hard to stomach, but he seems like he might be the clear cut Best Player Available after the first two, at least if you want to avoid taking somebody with an extremely low floor like Brown or Bender. Maybe you draft Dunn and then you can entertain trading one of Dunn, Smart, or Isaiah in the following months.
If after considering all those options I decided the best choice was still between Brown and Bender, I guess I'd try get them both to work out for me and then go on gut instinct. I wouldn't feel too good either way, but it certainly seems like he's got good upside if he can harness his physical ability.
