For fun, I'm going to assume that things don't get leaked unless someone wants them leaked. Often, big trades are a surprise. Second, I'm going to assume that Danny isn't mentioning the other team's name because there were not tons of rumors. So not Cleveland/Love.

My guesses:

James Harden
Blake Griffin
Demarcus Cousins
Paul George.

I don't get why Paul George, Jimmy Butler or even James Harden would be on the list. Those are players that recently or have more than one year on their contract. The only players I could see would be DMC or Griffin that would've been the one Ainge might've been targeting. I don't see PG or any of the players listed leaving their respective franchises any time soon.

Great list. My thinking too, outside of Griffin because that was talked about. Not a surprise team.

a big IF if it's one of those 3 but would have to agree the deal probably starts at the Brooklyn pick and Smart with salary matching players added.

If George is healthy, probably do it.
If Butler is expected to heal, consider it.
Harden -- not sure he'd mesh with the team culture.

Jimmy Butler seems the most likely to me. Not mentioned in trade talks much. Chicago evaluating team carefully. Considering major changes. Some complaints from player about the new coach and new system.

Not as talented as guys like Paul George or James Harden. Guys who would be much harder to pry away from their teams. Jimmy Butler a guy teams more willing to part with.

I'd feel very comfortable giving up Bradley and Nets picks for Butler. Thomas/Butler/Crowder could be a scary 1-3. Ad Horford in the summer? Yikes.

Griffin wouldn't have been a surprise. Love isn't a superstar, and was reported. Butler, Harden would have moderately surprised. Westbrook, George...? Anthony Davis would have been a total surprise, and a perfect fit. Whoever it is, it's still lined up for the summer.

I'm guessing it was hayward. The rumors usually aren't true and Ainge is usually targetting someone we don't expect anyways.
