Just saw on Twitter that Tanguay claims he was told the target was Bradley Beal.

Now it's Tanguay, so that definitely didn't actually happen.

Still, you could kind of see how a Beal for Bradley + BRK 16 deal would meet the parameters of the rumor.

Bradley Beal's injury history seems like it makes that deal way too risky for Boston, though, and I'm not sure how much better Beal actually is than Bradley.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Yep, when Gary gives you the scoop, you pick up the dogs**** and put it in the trash.
Beal's on minutes restrictions for the rest of his career and the Wizards would probably trade us Avery Bradley straight up for him.
He's almost cooked now unfortunately.  Massive offensive talent who's body just cant handle an nba schedule.
But yeah BRK pick is never involved in a Beal deal imo.

I think that's probably right.  Beal would be a very enticing talent if he could stay healthy, but I think you're right that he's on the Jrue Holiday track in that regard.

When Beal can play, he's an upgrade on AB, but that's an important conditional phrase.  He's certainly not good enough to justify trading the BRK pick this year -- though maybe one of the later ones -- in addition to AB.

I genuinely wonder if there has been some kind of market analysis on the Boston sports market where somehow ignorant blowhards somehow make everyone so irritated that they listen more.  Like they intentionally hired Tanguay, Ordway, Dan Shaughessy, A. Sherrod Blakely, etc because they are terrible.

At the hiring meeting, they stage two employees telling a rumor to each other and then have the candidates repeat what they think happened.  I just don't get it.  They're so terrible.  I'm going to start a podcast

I wonder who told him. Sherrod? D.B. Cooper? Tanguay's own reflection?

I think Tanguay gets his rumors "It" style ... he goes into the bathroom at work and hears distant, ominous murmurs coming out of the drain in the sink.

Donald Trump seems to have gotten his campaign strategy for the Presidential nomination from the Boston sports talk market.

"The average Howard Stern fan listens to his show for an hour and a half.  The average Stern hater listens to his show for two and a half hours."  Paraphrasing but something like that was in his autobiography.

As long as they don't cross a major line advertisers will pick obnoxious and stupid with a big audience over smart and reasoned with a small audience every single time.

Close enough.

In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I'm going with the "there was never a 'big trade' and Ainge is trying to generate some demand in advance of the summer because he has three picks in a soft draft" theory.

On the front page there's a comment by a "greenteam17" who claims to have inside info of a Butler trade involving Smart, Crowder, and the Nets pick. My hunch is that it's someone who resents the attention other insiders get planting a baseless rumor now so that in the offseason if we do trade for Butler then that someone can claim to be vindicated as an insider and receive attention as an insider and then reveal it all as a hoax. Terrible choice for the package, though, if so. Only a cynic who consistently undervalues Celtics players would think that Smart + Crowder + the Nets pick is believable.

yeah not happening.
Jimmy was just one of the more realistic options of players who 'hadn't been mentioned' in any reports.
Bulls are just looking horrid and all they really have is him as a major trade asset. If they want to start a rebuild this draft might be the time to do it.
