Ever since he was acquired in a trade over a year ago, he has consistently improved his game. Recently there have been talks that he is among the best and most overlooked small forwards in the game, and there are numbers and stats that back those claims up.  So the question is, how good is he? Is he a future all star,if he keeps doing what he is doing? Is he our second best player going forward behind Isaiah?

All star defender right now, no question.  Offensively, too inconsistent.  But he's obviously getting better.  If he gets his shot down, he's going to be right there for consideration of all star status.  He's our 2nd best player, and the sky's the limit really.  It's all about his offense.

Over the last 22 games (2 months) hes averaged 17ppg while adding almost 6 rebounds and close to 2 steals a game, shooting 48/38/82. If he can do that then he is an all star. Unfortunately I dont see him continuing to do this.

Well, for best value per dollar amount, he's #1.

He's exceeded my expectations this season. I thought he would be the ideal 3&D wing off the bench when this team hopefully gets its superstar players but never underestimate the heart of a champion. Crowder's had the opportunity to prove himself this year and he's rolled with it. His defense has been flat out amazing but I've mainly been surprised by his offensive impact. I've been very ecstatic with how Jae has played this season to the point where I believe he is the Celtics wing of the future. If he's able to somehow improve from how he's playing right now I think he can be an all-star-caliber player. The issue is he has to compete with the likes of Lebron George, and Carmelo so my hopes aren't that high as far as making an all-star team.

Right now, he's the team's best 2-way player and a case can be made that he is the team's best overall player. He's #23 in the league in overall RPM and #6 amongst small forwards (Behind elite company such as Lebron, Durant, Leonard, George, and Anthony) so he truly has a large impact on this team.

When he, IT, and Bradley all hit their jumpers in the same game, this team becomes a tough one to stop. Yet again, Danny scores a bargain!

I consider him a 2. All these guys play the 3 and are strictly forwards.

For someone in the league who is inconsistent offensively, he's 12th in the league in scoring for the position, 11th in FG%, 5th in adjusted FG%.

And he's trending up as we speak.

Of course, then the defense to account for.

That's pretty good company .....How can we upgrade ?   Other than an old Melo .....we have no chance of landing the others .

Jae is a keeper.

Count me among those who are super impressed with Jae's play over the past two months.  Imagine if he kept up his play from this month... 18.4 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2.4 steals with 49%/40%/81% shooting... borderline all-star.

Was always impressed with his hustle, mentality and surprising leadership qualities... But I took it more as, "Hah... look at this decent role player being one of the vocal leaders on the team... that's cute... gotta love guys like that"... and now I'm starting to take it like, "Woah... could Jae Crowder actually be the leader of this team?".

Fwiw, his play has me thinking the focus should no longer be upgrading SF (going all-in for a guy like Melo, trying hard to get someone like MIddleton or Hayward or settling for someone like Gallo)... I think our priorities should be to upgrade PF and get a long-term defensive anchor at center.  As long as Jae plays like this, he could slot in long-term as our starting SF.

IMO he's a keeper and with a bit more consistency should be in voting for Most Improved.

I think Jae has even more upside. His passing can improve, his outside shooting can get even better, he can develop a more varied offense. Crowder was a steal.

Jae is a keeper.

I agree he is the one player on this roster who the Cs have no plausible way to really upgrade from. DA did it again with the rondo trade.

Now I want to see the back up 3 upgraded and big men consolidated. This would pave the way for more crowder at the 4 small ball lineups.
