So a report recently came out that Dwight is unhappy in Houston and unhappy playing alongside James Harden. I guess that shouldn't be too surprising, especially given how much the Rockets have underperformed. Now supposedly, Miami is a potential trade partner with Whiteside, but since it's out there, do you think DA should/could make a play for Dwight?

I honestly think D12 would fit in pretty well with this team. I don't know what we'll have to give up, but I'm thinking something along the lines of Bradley and Amir and maybe a 2nd rounder or 2.

Dwight mare in Boston? Pass

He's been a cancer for a long time now. We also don't need a center who can't shoot outside of 5 feet.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

No!!!!  Howard is one of the last players I'd want on the team.

No thanks.  It'd be nice to help facilitate a 3 teamer but we don't have the kind of assets Houston would want.  If they even decided to trade him.

Dwight Howard is still a monster and has probably become underrated lately.  I, too, would be frustrated if I were him especially with James Harden and that goes for both ends of the floor.

On defense, the case is more obvious.  Harden is one of the worst defenders in the entire NBA.  For a defensive stalwart like DH12, that must be very frustrating to play with a guy in Harden who's defensive play can really only be characterized as lazy.

On offense, Harden is a truly elite and special player.  But DH12 is pretty good himself.  He's shooting 60% from the floor this season, after shooting 59% for the last two seasons, and his field goal attempts and usage rate are plummeting.  This season, his fga/36 min (just 9fga per 36 min) and his usage rate is below teammates like Terrence Jones, Corey Brewer, and Marcus Thornton.  My one critique would be that his turnover rate is too high (like it's always been and even a bit higher this season), but when you're shooting 60% from the floor and hitting ft's at at least an acceptable rate then yeah, maybe you deserve the ball more.

Now the question turns to fit.  Does he fit with the celtics?  I'm not sure.  He's still a really dominant defender (not as much as he used to be or any longer top 3 guy, but probably at least as much or more than he's been given recent credit) and he's at least as good offensively as what we've already got at the position.  He costs a lot of money and he's not in our team's age range really.  I'm very on the fence.  If we don't have to gut our rebuilding process to get him, I'd be ok with it.  Lee + Sullinger + Zeller + the dallas pick + and our 2016 pick?  Sure.  But is Houston interested in that?  They may be interested in sliding Capela into a starting C role.  I'm not really sure what they'd be looking for in return.

I'd love to have Dwight Powell back in Boston. I wonder if we could get him for Zeller and a high second round pick

I'd take him for the right price.

Mavs Pick, Zeller, Amir. I'd probably be fine with a little more, but I wouldn't give up any blue chip assets for him.

David Lee, Kelly Olynyk, RJ Hunter, Boston's 1st, and Minnesota's 1st for Dwight. Despite what people think, Dwight is a huge step up from Sullinger as C and he would make our defense among the most elite in the NBA. Yes ladies and gentleman. If you think we have an elite defense right now imagine it with Dwight Howard. Also people say we need a stretch 5 and that's ridiculous. Dwight Hoeard would be a fantastic addition to our offense because he's always been, and still is, among the best pick and roll men in the league. He is one of the best roll men in the league right now. Him and Sullinger would be an elite rebounding duo and would give us 2 players, Sullinger and Dwight, that we can throw it down on the block to and let them go to work. Honestly Dwight has never had a coach like Stevens and he could potentially make us contenders to go to the EF or at least make some noise. We keep Brooklyn's pick and the Mav's pick and either grab two players or trade up higher to grab a better player.

Then I am with you. Cheers.

It would be tough to match a potential offer from Miami (seems purely speculation at this point), that does seem to make a lot of sense for both parties, without giving up too much.

This. Who would've thought he'd be a significant contributor on a solid Dallas team?

To be fair, I don't think people were enamored with Crowder too until he got here. I guess we fans don't know everything :p
