I'd take him for the right price.

max, I like you, but fear you're drinking to get drunk here. What's the price?

Mavs Pick, Zeller, Amir. I'd probably be fine with a little more, but I wouldn't give up any blue chip assets for him.

Then I am with you. Cheers.

It would be tough to match a potential offer from Miami (seems purely speculation at this point), that does seem to make a lot of sense for both parties, without giving up too much.

Actually, it seems like Miami is getting the short end of the deal in a Dwight for Whiteside trade. Whiteside seems like he's just as good as current day Dwight and is still improving. Not to say that we'd be the ideal trade partners either because I don't know if we have the assets Houston wants (they seem like a pretty complete team, IMO, so I don't know what they'll be looking for).

What if they ask for Bradley though? Or sully? Would you still want to go through with the trade?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
He's probably a great candidate for a 'buy low' star.
Ainge and Morey being friends helps too.

2018 Brooklyn pick with top 3 protection
Celtics 2017 pick with top 8 protection
Amir Johnson
Jonas Jerebko

 for Dwight Howard?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

He is a risky one in some ways though, almost a malcontent.

I'd take him if they tacked a first rounder to him.

No interest in him, never plays anymore and is never happy, he's on the back 9!

It's hard for Boston to trade for Dwight.

They can't give up much of value without Dwight giving a guarantee that he will sign a new contract in the summer ... and I do not see why Dwight would do that given the lack of star talent on the Celtics roster.

Dwight Howard being a free agent this summer is a problem for Boston.

I think Miami makes a lot of sense for Dwight. I hope that happens. It would be nice to see another strong team in the East besides Cleveland.

Dwight has been unhappy since he got into the league.  His teams always underperform and it is always someone else's fault.

I don't know if he has a no trade clause but maybe Houston can trade him in some package to the Nets for Lopez.  Let Dwight see what a real bad situation is.  To the Knicks to pair with Carmelo seems like another good fit for Dwight.  Dwight will still be unhappy but the drama will be better (or at least more visible) than in Houston.

As for the Celtics, I would be really disappointed if we traded for him.

That would be awesome. Dwight, Melo and Porzingis.

I'd watch that team.

Would love it...he would make the defense even better.

Can someone explain to me...if we like Amir for the pick and roll and the defense, why wouldn't we love Dwight, who is so much better??

Dwight's unhappy?

No . . . ? I'm shocked.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

Any way we could snag R. Lopez in a three-way deal, then?

As for Dwight, I would love to bring him in here for the right price. I think we would need to make sure to hang on to Kelly, but could see two of Sully, Amir, Lee, or Zeller going in the deal along with 1-2 non-Brooklyn picks. People talk about Dwight's lack of success, but he has gone deep into the playoffs several times (including the finals) without an amazing roster around him. I only fear he is getting a bit too old, but he can still dominate with strength pretty handily.

No matter, I just want to consolidate some of our players/picks into more foundational pieces - I realize we need players that fit within our system, but I am not too picky.

Orlando Magics - blames team they didn't step up
LA Lakers - blames Kobe for being too tough on him
Orlando Magic - blames James Harden for taking the glory from him

so uhh, what really does make you happy Dwight?

True...so maybe just put him on the patented Spurs minutes and games limit...to extend his useful play and make sure he's ready for the playoffs.
