After Sacramento was hammered at home by San Antonio Monday night, the Kings’ star, DeMarcus Cousins, stormed into the locker room and cursed out head coach George Karl with a torrent of obscenities, a person close to the situation told The Big Lead.

After Cousins unleashed the F-bombs on Karl, all the head coach – who publicly feuded with the Kings best player last summer – could do was walk away, a source tells The Big Lead. Afterward, Cousins felt some remorse for his actions, asking a couple of teammates if he came down too hard on the coach. They calmly told him, “you can’t scream and curse like that at your coach in front of everyone.”

So do the c's fans that want to trade for him still think his issues are in the past ?

I want no part of Cousins .....

Karl wanted to suspend him for 2 games, but was denied by front office

I'd be all for trading for Cousins if we still had one of Pierce, KG, Allen around. I think you need a player like that to help make sure that Cousins doesn't become a locker room distraction. The risk with trading for him is that he'd be the big dog on this Cs squad, and that might not be a good thing. I could see real locker room issues.
Celtics fan for life.

According to league sources, Kings coach George Karl wanted to suspend DeMarcus Cousins for two games following Tuesday morning’s team meeting after the All-Star center allegedly directed a profanity-laced tirade toward the coach. The sources asked not to be identified because they are unauthorized to speak on the matter.

The sources went on to say Kings general manager Vlade Divac said Karl did not have authority to suspend Cousins nor would grant permission.

I will give them Zeller and the Clipper pick, oh wait. We don't have a Clipper pick.

This has to be the first time in a long time we don't have a Clipper pick.

They have David Lee and Amir for vets and they have young positive influences like Smart, Crowder, etc., not to mention CBS. Fans tend to stigmatize young teams as having unstable locker rooms. That's not necessarily the case. The Cs have a good thing going and are winning games. If Cousins came in and that stopped and he was starting trouble, CBS and the rest of the team would immediately hound him for it.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Karl sucks. He's a terrible coach at this stage who has a huge ego.

what about Cousins' behavior here?

It sucks too...
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Hell yes I still want him.

The guy has passion - you want that.

Jordan got angry after a game and broke a blackboard.  Lebron has been caught on camera kicking chairs in frustration.  It happens.

Plus we have pretty much established by now that George Carl is an absolute Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. and never should have been hired for this team.  He's the worst possible coaching choice for a team with guys like Rondo and Cousins.

The facts of the matter are:

1) Demarcus Cousins is arguably a top 5 player in this league
2) The Sacramento Kings have been an absolute mess since Cousins got there
3) After all the years, Cousins is still in Sacramento

One thing about Cousins - you don't ever really hear any former NBA teammates criticizing him.  Guys in Minnesota criticized Love for his lack of leadership while he was with the team.  Ray Allen criticised Rajon Rondo when he left the Celtics, and Doc / Ainge have both commented on him being at times hard to coach.  Kevin Love and Chris Bosh made comments about how hard it is playing with Lebron.  Countless guys have commented on how much of an unpleasant person MJ was to play with.

Yet none of the guys who leave Sacramento ever seem to complain about Cousins being a bad guy, a bad leader, or any kind of locker room issue.  Isaiah Thomas still seems to be good friends with the guy.

That, to me, kind of hits home the belief that Cousins probably isn't a bad guy at all.  He's probably much like KG - somebody opponents hate, but teammates love.

I read about him calling a players only meeting after the Spurs game - there were quotes from him saying something like "I have no problem with any of the guys on this roster" and "us players need to stick together".

I don't look at Cousins and see a guy who is a troublemaker - I see a guy who is fed up with loosing, frustrated with the team staff (specifically coach Karl) and who is trying to stand up for his teammates, who probably all feel the same way.  I see him as a leader - a guy who is standing up and taking a stand to speak out on behalf of the other guys on his team, who (themselves) might not have the balls to speak out.

I love the guy, and I don't know if there is another star player in this league who personifies being a Celtic like he does.  He plays hard, he's tough as hell, he's physical, and he's not afraid to speak his mind.  He's basically like a 6'11" Rajon Rondo without the excess cheek.

Oh and yes, I would trade the Nets pick for Cousins every day of the week and twice on Sunday.  Every GM in the league would.  Even if you had a pick guaranteed top 3 (which the nets one isn't right now) you'd still do it without a second thought.

If you look at his stats at his age, compared to what historical players put up at his age, Demarcus Cousins is on the path towards being one of the greatest big men to ever play the game.  There is no big man in the past 20 years who put up numbers better than Cousins is right now (at the same age).  One or two were about on par, but none better.

The guy is an absolute beast.  Put him in an organisation that makes sense, with a coach who respects him and appreciates him, and he'll work miracles for your organisation.

Also if you don't believe in his impact, take a look at the Sacramento King's win records when he isn't on the court over the past 4 years or so.  Without Cousins the Kings would have been last year's 76ers for the past 4 years.

Not to burst everyone's bubble here but the team that I see trading for Cousins is probably Orlando. They have a lot of young talent to offer, they have a good coach, a stable team, and best of all, with Cousins aboard, they'd become one of the sleeper teams in the east. No question.

Vucevic, Fournier (playing out of his mind this year), Hezonja, and Lakers 2017 first for Cousins. Heck that might even be an overpay for DMC.

PG:Elfrid Payton
SG:Victor Oladipo
SF:Tobias Harris
PF:Aaron Gordon
C:Demarcus Cousins

Point is, I see them more realistically having a shot than Boston does. We do have the picks, but last time I checked, Sacramento doesn't handle lottery picks too well.

I think cousins is more sheed then kg as far as personality. The talent is great but the immaturity and volatility is disconcerting. Cussing out your coach in from of the whole team is absolutely childish.

As far as the pick. It depends. I it's number one overall I might just go with Ben Simmons. If it's later then I still would roll the dice on cousins but I think it's a bigger risk then ppl think. There legitimately might be a mental issue with DMC that doesn't allow him to control his emotions.

Orlando is still too raw.

They have potential to be really solid a year or two from now, but right now they just aren't quite there.

I don't see Cousins being a good fit.  They are too young, too many soft-like-marshmellow personalities on the team.  Not enough toughness.  I don't see him having any interest in going there, and if he doesn't want to go there then it's probably not going to end well.

Boston on the other hand has a top shelf coach, and a team filled with a bunch of guys who are tough as nails.  I think Cousins would love playing with guys like Crowder, Smart, Johnson, etc.

With Boston being an up and coming playoff team, I don't think he'd oppose it either.

Boston with Cousins is a better team than Orlando with Cousins, and with the way the Nets are going Boston have the potential to add a second young superstar prospect next to him after the season.

The problem with Orlando is that if they traded for Cousins, they'd need to trade half their starting lineup...and after that they would have no team.

Boston is TOO deep in the front court so we NEED to shed players, and we also have draft picks to burn.  We could put together a solid package for Cousins, and still have enough quality talent left over to be a scary team.

i know we have many that would like to take a shot at Cousins. And I have to admit, he's a great talent.
I will say his, the Kings are gonna want "everything" for him. We're talking about the Brooklyn pick... plus, plus, plus.

If we get Cousins, and he doesn't fit in, or isn't happy, or acts like the same player he presently does in Sacramento, and he then skips in free agency. It will be the biggest mistake in the history of the Celtic franchise. It will set this team back years and years. It will make the Len Bias catastrophe look like a blessing.

Divac has preferred players ready to win over picks / youth. He doesn't like rebuilding and how long it has been since Sacramento were last in the playoffs.

If Divac trades Cousins, I think there is a good chance he goes for a different type of trade package than the norm ... unless there is a can't-pass-this-up offer like Andrew Wiggins (#1) for Kevin Love.

Along those lines of thought, Orlando could become more interesting. Proven players like Vucevic and Tobias Harris. Put some high end youth (Hezonja) and picks around that. That could be interesting.
