Sacramento was 29-53 with Cousins last year.
Cousins is overrated.
Yawn, what a tired argument. The fact that he dragged that heap of garbage to 29 wins is miraculous.
Not a team player.
They will be much better when he's gone.
I'll give you 1,000 TPs if you can provide one shred of evidence to indicate that the Kings are better without Boogie.
On January 1, 2012, head coach Paul Westphal sent Cousins home from the Kings' home game against the New Orleans Hornets, saying that Cousins was "unwilling/unable to embrace traveling in the same direction as his team; it cannot be ignored indefinitely."
On November 11, 2012, the league suspended Cousins for two games without pay for confronting San Antonio Spurs color commentator Sean Elliott "in a hostile manner" after he criticized Cousins for attempting to bully Tim Duncan on the court.
On December 22, 2012, Cousins was suspended indefinitely from the Kings, who accused him of "unprofessional behavior and conduct detrimental to the team."
On February 26, 2014, Cousins received a one-game suspension for punching Patrick Beverley in the stomach.
Notice how this is all in the past.
Right now Cousins is a definite MVP if he can ever will his team into the playoffs, but its not just on him to do so, considering the level of talent in Gay, Rondo, and Collison having to all mesh together.
Cousins has matured, and if you ever watched his Bill Simmons interview, you'll know that Cousins has always been perceived as a violent guy, but hes absolutely chill.
538 Carmelo's evaluation favorably dotes on him... Comparing him to Blake Griffin, Shawn Kemp, Kevin Garnett, Hakeem, and Duncan... Besides the fact his impact last year, and his WAR was around 6.0, which is pretty dang good, there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that Cousins sucks; albeit being a headcase...
I have no doubt in my mind if Cousins was coached by Stevens, that the two would get along really well.
ROFL is it suppose to be in the future?
He's a very talented player that has not made anyone better on his team or the team any better. People that want to make up excuses for him can do so but to me it's very worrisome that a player with his talent can't win 30 games, 30!!!!! I know you guys guys drooling over this knuckle head will scream it's the West but frankly I don't want to hear it. Lets deal with facts and those are the facts, period!
How does any of that indicate the kings are better without him?
Cousins has consistently had one of the top Real Plus Minus ratings in the entire NBA, and if you collaborate all of his seasons since his sophomore year the Kings have been approximately 12 wins a season better when Cousins has played compared to when he hasn't.
They are clearly a better team with him then they are without him, and anybody who tries to argue otherwise is just clinging to their own personal bias.
12 wins is a HUGE difference - add 12 wins to our record and we'd be the 3rd best team in the NBA, trailing only Golden State and San Antonio.
Also yes - I would DEFINATELY trade out pick for Cousins if it falls top 3. Even if it falls #1 I would STILL trade it for Cousins.
How many top 3 picks in the past 10 years have become as good as Cousins? Over roughly 600 draftees (about 60 players per draft, over 10 years) I can think of maybe 3-5 at most who you could argue have become good enough to be somewhat close to Cousins' level. Even if you only consider top 5 players, that's STILL 50 candidates, and only some 10% of those (at most) can be compared to Cousins' talent.
If you want to take a chance on that draft pick you go right ahead. I'll stick to the proven 27/12 monster.
