Trade top 3 pick for Cousins?  or draft a prospect?

Yes.  He's a franchise big man. Absolutely.

No, would rather draft Ben Simmons or a top 3 pick and then go after Cousins in free agency. If we miss out then meh whatever we have Simmons/draft stud.
41 (45.6%)
Don't want anything to do with Cousins.

I'll give him credit as others have pointed out here, superstar, franchise player, MVP caliber ...

Last year he lead his team to 29 wins his career high 4th place in the division!  ::)

I like Cousins a lot and the draft is always a gamble (let's not forget that Evan Turner was taken #2 overall) but I still would go with the top 3 pick. If Cousins can play an entire season like an adult (or if this draft starts looking weak once they start playing), maybe my opinion changes.

Cousins came close last season but I don't like the idea of a player whose great when things are great but hard to be around when things are bad.

Probably.

But I don't think the Kings are going to trade him any time soon.

I think I would.

And I don't buy the argument that a player being on a perennial loser is automatically a bad reflection on that player. Cousins has no control over the rest of the roster, and there are very few players who could singlehandedly make a bad team good or even decent—think LeBron for the '07 Cavs. Maybe this means Cousins isn't a transcendent player, but his talent level beats that of any of our bigs by a country mile.

Really does not matter what we would do, it matters what they would do.   I do not think a pick alone would be enough to get him.  Is he worth it, absolutely.

Here's what I'd do to get the best of both worlds (assuming the pick is #1):

I'd draft Simmons with the pick, and then trade a package of the 2017 Nets pick, the 2018 Nets pick, Zeller, Bradley, KO or Sully, and Lee for Cousins and WCS. This would give us a lineup of:

PG: Smart - Thomas - Rozier
SG: Hunter - Young - Rozier
SF: Simmons - Crowder - Young
PF: Amir - Sully/KO - JJ
C: Cousins - WCS - Mickey

With the rest of the minutes divided between Rozier, Mickey, Jerebko, and whoever else we have. This lineup was hard to make because I'm REALLY high on Rozier and Mickey but just can't find the minutes for them on this team (assuming we resign Amir). This team would be IMO be a top 3 team in the east and be set up perfectly to enter its prime when LBJ begins to slow down. If Boogie can continue to improve his outside shot and stretch the floor AND we could somehow manage to sign Noel in a few years, this team is an instant title contender. Lemme know what you guys think of this idea and if you think it'd work/how you'd change it.

In a perfect world, this is exactly what I want.  If we can nab both, that would be great.

Not possible. If DMC becomes expendable, that is because they will believe WCS have the potential to be better player or just better fit for the Kings or vice versa. I don't mind having a sold rim protector on this team.

Sacramento was 29-53 with Cousins last year.
Cousins is overrated.

Yawn, what a tired argument. The fact that he dragged that heap of garbage to 29 wins is miraculous.

I'll give you 1,000 TPs if you can provide one shred of evidence to indicate that the Kings are better without Boogie.

On January 1, 2012, head coach Paul Westphal sent Cousins home from the Kings' home game against the New Orleans Hornets, saying that Cousins was "unwilling/unable to embrace traveling in the same direction as his team; it cannot be ignored indefinitely."
On November 11, 2012, the league suspended Cousins for two games without pay for confronting San Antonio Spurs color commentator Sean Elliott "in a hostile manner" after he criticized Cousins for attempting to bully Tim Duncan on the court.
On December 22, 2012, Cousins was suspended indefinitely from the Kings, who accused him of "unprofessional behavior and conduct detrimental to the team."
On February 26, 2014, Cousins received a one-game suspension for punching Patrick Beverley in the stomach.

Notice how this is all in the past.

Right now Cousins is a definite MVP if he can ever will his team into the playoffs, but its not just on him to do so, considering the level of talent in Gay, Rondo, and Collison having to all mesh together.

Cousins has matured, and if you ever watched his Bill Simmons interview, you'll know that Cousins has always been perceived as a violent guy, but hes absolutely chill.

538 Carmelo's evaluation favorably dotes on him... Comparing him to Blake Griffin, Shawn Kemp, Kevin Garnett, Hakeem, and Duncan... Besides the fact his impact last year, and his WAR was around 6.0, which is pretty dang good, there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that Cousins sucks; albeit being a headcase...

I have no doubt in my mind if Cousins was coached by Stevens, that the two would get along really well.
