I'm sorry to pick on you, but I really think you have a weird perspective. Paul George made the all-NBA third team at age 22 and 23. The players at his position on team 1 and 2 were Lebron James and Kevin Durant.

Are you really saying that George isn't worth our pick because he's "excellent" but not "great".... based on the fact that when he was 22 he couldn't leapfrog the GOAT and the MVP in their primes???

If the Brooklyn pick looks like a more or less guaranteed top 5 pick, I'd only move it for a very short list of guys, and it would involve a package around that pick. Besides Durant/LeBron/Davis if consider moving it for...

If your talking about a draft night trade though, if it's #1 or #5 matters. If you trade at the deadline, you run the risk of it landing at 1, just like the other team runs a risk of it landing at 8 or 9.

Nope, I'm keeping the pick even over Paul George. And this is coming from someone that would love to have pg 13 on our team.

But give me a top 3 pick on a rookie salary, especially with the cap about to hit 100 plus million per year and plenty of money to spend.

We still have the bk 2017 and 2018 picks amongst a bunch of others which will have value to make a trade later on.

Sullinger, turner, zeller, lee, amir and jerebko are either free agents to be, or non guaranteed. We still need a top 5 pick type talent to add to this rebuild.

Yes there are like Ben Simmons.

But it is like any other draft, it's too early right now and we need to see how the college season developes.

The current top talents though are all sf, pf and centers.  Which are all positions we need an infusion of elite young talent in.

If the pick fall to number 2 couldn't see using it on Skal Laberiesse(sp?) .Think he's a tremendous talent but we need more of a heady player at PF/C who can keep the ball moving.
