Luckily, James "Streetball" Harden is coming up big for them in the final minutes.

Huge win by Houston.  Dallas lottery still in play.

Yep, major win by Houston today, especially against one of their tougher opponents.

Now I'm really torn on the Utah/Phoenix game. Either way it is a win, but I HIGHLY doubt that Brooklyn wins another game this season. So we need just two Phoenix wins to have sole possession of the third worst record/third best odds in lottery. Even tying them would be much better than being solely in fourth place.

In a tie for third, do we get equal ping-pong balls and then coin flip for who gets higher position if neither wins the lottery?

Yes, though the winner of the coin flip also gets like one more ping pong ball combination, too, in addition to the higher position in the draft if neither wins the lottery. The same thing happened with us and Utah in 2014, and we lost the coin flip. Ultimately, though, we got the better end of that deal so far by having Smart over Exum.

I'm afraid the one team we may have to worry about is Memphis. They have been awful lately and they got a tough stretch coming up. The game they have against Dallas could be the determining factor for the pick.

That game is less likely to be determining than the games the Mavs have against the Jazz and Rockets this week.  Losses to both will obviously be wins for the other two, but it will also give both the Jazz and Rockets the tiebreaker..

That said, the way the Bulls and Wizards have been playing, it may now be a difference between pick 14 and 15, instead of 14 and 12, so much less exciting.

Maybe having the pick go down to #15 lessens the risk enough that it can be used to take Thon Maker?  ;D  ;)

Agreed! And also the Clippers/Spurs games as those seeds are locked up and those teams will be resting (while the Mavs have everything to play for). I am also not liking the Rockets chances on Wednesday as this is the type of game the Mavs keep pulling out of their hat all season long...

Really questionable and soft calls/no-calls down the stretch here.

And Harris and Capela. Pretty big miss by Danny there.

He wouldn't have if I were drafting - still pretty unhappy about that. Hood would make a wonderful Turner replacement; I wonder what the Jazz would want in a return. I'll happily give them Young  ;)

As for this game, crazy three by Parker and great contested shot by Kawhi - there's a reason SA has a strong chance at winning it all.

Too bad, so close.

We're gonna need Houston and Utah to win the H2H against Dallas. Anyone know what Dallas tiebreaker situation is with both of them in case they finish the year with the same record?
