Back to back is an excuse, but if the Celtics had taken care of business against the Nets, we'd be in much better position.  We've got two losses against them.

He's perfectly correct though..
We should have won 3 of 3.

Why should we? do we have more talent? no. we just have better fitting pieces and a great coach. darn near all the guys that play for us have to contribute for us to win, cavs have 3 players who can/should be able to take up when others lack.   

they played 2 teams not making the playoffs on the b2b, it's not as if they played the spurs first.

It does. I had a bad feeling those losses would come back to haunt us. Watch as Phoenix ends with 3rd best odds and then wins the lottery. And then we somehow select a guard who can't shoot and the forums will be a hellfire for the next season.

Why should the Celtics beat the Nets?  I'd say because the Nets are tied for the third-worst team in the NBA, while we're competing for a top-three seed.  We're a deeper, better team.  The losses against the Nets were choke jobs, just like the Cavs loss tonight was.

When did I say otherwise?  Of course the Cavs should have won.  Kyrie and Love decided not to show up, yet again.  That team has no heart.  Lebron and Delly seem to be the only guys with any competitive spirit.

But, I think it's weak to blame other teams for not beating the Nets on our behalf, while not acknowledging that the Nets were gifted two wins by the Celtics.

no, dont pretend like we are superiorly more talented than the nets, how is it a shocker that they can beat us? they are a lot more skilled in an area where we struggle also. now look at the cavs roster vs. the nets and it isn't even close! if the cavs rested some guys I would hear you, they didn't.

I agree that blaming a back-to-back is an excuse.  I was just pointing out that the "we win those games" defense isn't valid, since we've choked twice.

Why should the Celtics beat the Nets?  I'd say because the Nets are tied for the third-worst team in the NBA, while we're competing for a top-three seed.  We're a deeper, better team.  The losses against the Nets were choke jobs, just like the Cavs loss tonight was.

yes, our guys come together and achieve in ways that the nets can't but we can lose to any team because we have to put a lot of effort in from everyone to win, cavs could have  2 of their stars sleep and should be able to beat the nets. nets play tight with a lot of teams but they have trouble closing games, we also struggled with closing games, cavs have been there done that they should know how to finish teams off.

Im not saying we didnt play bad and shouldn't have won but we still need our entire roster who gets into the game to contribute in order to beat most teams, cavs don't have to have that (or shouldn't but meh).

most of the guys we didn't draft came from teams where they barely played and/or came off the bench b4 coming to celts. just because our guys fit and work well together, it doesn't mean our guys are more talented/better because those same guys weren't showing it (IT4 was) not too long ago.


I didn't say it was all coaching, I mentioned all guys contributing and playing with effort and fitting well multiple times.
