Can you imagine these forums if we had other teams' picks instead of BK's?

Suns: "Two game win streak and now Knight is coming back?  They're definitely going to pass Brooklyn and Minnesota now!"

Lakers: "Now that Byron Scott unleashed D'Angelo, they're probably going to go .500 the rest of the way.  They have cupcakes against the Magic, Knicks, Kings, Suns x2, Wizards and Pelicans left.  They'll pass Brooklyn by the middle of March!"

Minnesota: Can you imagine having the Wolves' pick when someone else had the Nets' pick, then having the Nets pull that move where they rested their starters?  The servers would have caught fire

excellent post!
The great thing for us is that we are basically playing with house money.  That KG/Pierce trade is already a resounding win.  Looks like a top 6 pick is a lock here.  For a team like the lakers, they have a ton riding on this.  There's almost a 50% chance they lose the pick to Philly.

Dangelo Russell is going to be so good.

So you've now said multiple times.  I think you may have a passive-aggressive streak in you. Not because you are wrong, just based on what you choose to highlight.
He just beat the Warriors.  It's worth repeating.  Kid has been very impressive since Byron Scott finally stopped stunting him and started letting him play 6 games ago.  Future star.

You mean Clarkson beat the Warriors? 6 games is a small sample size, If Marcus Smart did the same thing, will you label him as a future star?

Has Smart ever put up 39 points? I mean come on, be realistic here. Russel is a freaking stud and future star. You're being disrespectful to Russell by comparing him to Smart.

Offensively, it's not close and probably will not be close.  But Smart is pretty special defensively.

Wolves lose, Pelicans about to win.  Mavs losing too.

Trying to get this back on track and off the Smart/Russell debate.

Same. Mavs blown out, Pelicans now at 24 wins and 6th worst! Indiana beating SA is good for the Dallas pick too!  :)

They're two young PG prospects who were both high picks. It's absolutely reasonable to compare them. With that said, Russell is pretty clearly the superior prospect. He has obvious superstar potential, which is why he was the 2nd Pick in what's shaping up to be one of the greatest drafts in recent history, while Smart went 6th in a pretty good draft.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

I think it's a little early to say "it's shaping up to be one of the greatest draft in recent history."

So are we just judging prospects purely on how many points they've scored?

I think we can write off the Pelicans as a threat to the Brooklyn pick.

No stopping Smart v. Russell in the Octagon.

Pretty much, looks that way.
Sadly the thread is being derailed.
Both Phoenix vs. Minny games are going to be swingy.
Suns winning both keeps #3 worst odds alive, Minny winning both helps to ensure #4 odds at least.

Anyways. Nice to see NO win. Also Toronto should be very focused after blowing that game to Houston. Brooklyn should get slaughtered.

I just hope the Jazz can go on a legit streak here and force the Mavs to the lottery.

Suns host the Knicks on Wednesday.  Very winnable game for them.  Nets could be back down to tied for third in a few days (unfortunately with a game at Philly coming up.)

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Imagine if our Mavs pick somehow landed 8th.
Mavs pick in top 10 and Nets pick in top 2.

C'mon bball gods just one time .
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Duncan, Manu and Parker all sitting out tonight after yesterday's game vs. Indy. Think Parker has a toe ailment. Spurs shot terribly last night; hope it carries over.

Go Wolves!
