At least the Bucks won last night!
LAL beating New Orleans is good but a double-edged sword... because if New Orleans (and Phoenix & the Wolves) keep playing bad and end up worse than the Nets, AND the Lakers also end up worse than the Nets then it's for naught.
Phoenix and the Wolves are really really worrying me! They just continue losing and I don't see an end in sight. And the Pelicans losing to the Lakers after losing MANY close games (and some to good teams) is also scary. I'm thinking the Nets will finally win one at home in the next couple games, and they have many upcoming games against the 76ers (and also some against Denver & Minny)...
Need the Nets to lose A LOT in the next 15 games before that "cupcake" schedule they have coming up in February/March. These next 2 at home (NYK & POR) are MUST LOSE (as all games are)!
This is so stressful! Haha
I'm quite happy about the Lakers win. New Orleans will eventually turn this thing around. Now, granted, I've been saying that for about the past 30 games, but still...
Here's what makes me feel a little better, though, about the other teams: The west is tightly bunched at the top and tightly bunched at the bottom. Among Denver, Minneapolis, LAL, Phoenix and NOP, we're really in "any given Sunday" situations, i.e., I would expect all of those teams to be ~.500 against each other. Remember, we don't care how bad those teams are, as long as they are better than the Nets. If they do manage to play .500 ball against each other, that's a bunch of wins that the Nets have to make up.
Phoenix definitely worries me, as does Minnesota, although I think the latter is just a matter of time as they have a decent, but young, team. Also, Brooklyn still has three games against Philly, which will produce a couple of wins for them. Wow, I just looked at their February schedule. It looks like every game in that month is against Minnesota, Denver or Philly. Well, we'll root for a tough January.
