Brook lopez just appeared to scream out in frustration when leaving the game. The frustration is definitely mounting on their end. Now down 17.

Following them is turning me into a bad person.  I was trying to tell if he was yelling directly at his teammates or not when he got back there

We can't be the first people to enjoy seeing a team lose for various reasons. I am now just watching their body language as they have not scored in about 4 or 5 minutes of gametime and it has turned into a full on rout. They just pulled all their starters Joe Johnson still played an oustanding 36 minutes (Brook was only at 28).

Even better now is that the Nets' second unit is looking chippy and doing slightly better than the starters.  Sow discontent!

Also holy mackerel at that floater Curry just did.  I don't know how to use expletives on this site so I have to say corny, old-timey expressions and they just don't get the point across the same way.

Down 20 with 4 minutes to go, it's probably safe to say that the Nets are going to be 5-15.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The next 6 games (including this one) are huge for the Nets because they're all at home. Down the stretch they play 18 of 24 on the road. So if they do poorly in this home stand, I think they'll be mentally shot for a good while.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

22 in a freaking row to start the season. That is just ridiculous. I still think one of the Pacers or Celtics gets the first win against them.

Rockets ......

Oh boy ......this should be another battle down to the last tenth of a second and last shot .

Once again .......Brook clogs the paint ......and is the major scorer ......does Howard actually do anything useful. .....besides smile and act like a third grader?

Harden 47 points ......rockets by 1

If CP3 is out .....Nets might beat the Clippers .....I predict a Clippers are upset .....but 76 ers respond andn beat the Nets.

They're at least playing a bit better now than when the Nets beat them the first time. I'd like to think the Rockets have some emotion in them wanting to avenge their earlier loss. Alas, that's a team with a ton of character issues, and as my grandpa used to say, "There's a lot of quit in that boy [team]."  ;D

Like it or not those first 7 losses count and as has been discussed, it means that for the Nets to approach last year's win total they would have to be a .500 team the rest of the year. Their point spread differential points more towards a team destined to win maybe a quarter to a third of their remaining games, not half. So I see about 23-26 wins for Brooklyn.

One thing to keep in mind is that they have had an extremely difficult strength of schedule so far this year. They have gotten both GS games out of the way. They still have four against Philly. Etc.

On the plus side, look who has had the easiest SoS so far this year. Our next draft pick!

INJURY ALERT!!!

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson out indefinitely with non displaced fracture in his right ankle.

Although I would never wish injury on a player this certainly bodes well for our pick as he has played decently for the Nets so far this season.

That's an injury that could really help the Celts.  Not to one of the guys we were all expecting.

RHJ really helped complete that main lineup that has kept the Nets in games, though.  I feel bad for the young guy having his rookie season derailed like that, but you can't feel too bad about it as a Celtics fan, that's for sure.

Maybe this will encourage the Nets to sell off on Bojan / Jack / Thad etc for whatever they can get and make Celts' fans dreams come true.

Oh wow he is getting surgery for it and everything: https://twitter.com/SpearsNBAYahoo/status/673930739298074624

This is bad because he's pretty much the most fun player to watch on that team and I'm still going to keep tabs on them.  Hopefully he gets well soon.  That's actually a more serious injury than it sounds, though.

Edit: this is actually a pretty brutal injury.

Here are some quick facts about it:

The human ankle is a complex joint that consists of three bones: the tibia, the fibula, and the talus. The three bones work in unison to provide the range of motion necessary for daily and recreational activities (e.g., running, jumping, walking). The range of motion of the ankle joint is unique, and medical scientists have not been able to successfully duplicate the joint with an implant.

Fractures of the talus are rare but are often associated with long-term disability.

Treatment varies with the location and type of talar fracture. Talar head fractures that are nondisplaced are treated by immobilization with below-the-knee casting or a fracture brace for 6 to 10 weeks. Displaced talar head fractures require open reduction, internal fixation (ORIF).

Most talar fractures eventually heal, but the recovery may be slowed dramatically by complications. Accurate reduction is important because any misalignment in the bones and joints can produce arthritis when movement and activity resume.

This injury news is fairly significant. He was one of their best defenders already and had started playing 20 minutes a game (and starting). Looking at their roster those 20 minutes will now go to Brown? They can't really rely on Johnson any heavier unless they want him to die during a game.

Overall they have lost their last two games by a combined 34 points and their point differential is all the way down to 7.3. I actually agree with other posters that this is a huge week for them that could really impact the direction of their season. They are playing two struggling teams at home in Houston and LA (if paul and reddick stay out) and a team that is very up and down (and young) in Orlando. I could see them going anything from 2-1 to 0-3 in those contests.

I don't expect him to play again this season.  No reason at all for them to rush him back.  At the earliest maybe he's back after the All-Star break.  But seriously, why not just shut him down?

This may encourage the Nets to give up any hopes they might have had of clawing their way back to the playoffs, see if they can save money and get some minor draft assets by getting rid of some of their vets.
