Interesting to see what the suns do with Booker. Probably nothing. Any takers on CB for him?

The only seemingly logical conclusion is that their GM sees the nets rebuild taking more than 3-5 years. In that case, considering the ages of Young and Lopez, those players do not factor into the future of the team. In that case, it doesn't make sense to drag those players along a rebuild and watch their value drop year by year. I see them trading for young players and draft picks. This strategy makes sense for the Nets, as well as does wonders for our remaining draft picks. #tatumtoboston

All True .  this is logical normal thinking .   It does not apply to,the NETs Owner ......I ll have to see it with my own eyes the selling off,of Lopez before I believe it will happen .

I don't believe a GM position in the Nets franchise has much clout .  He is scape goat for WHAT ever the owner is having him do.

I just don 't see the Nets current owner being patient enough to develop or grow a solid team from acquiring assets , drafts and trades.

He finds it easier to,write checks for ALL ready over rated and paid players .

I be shocked if he actually lets a GM build a club the correct way with good coaches and young players.
I actually think their owner was too patient with King, he has been quoted that he lets the GM do his thing for a certain number of years. King's plan failed so he went with a new GM. So far their are clear changes to the Nets withing his tenure.

If the Nets trade off Lopez and Young for picks to jump start the rebuild and give some young talent time to develop, I think there is a really good chance that the Nets are worse next year than they are this year.

Fingers crossed

Nets down 2 in Washington at half.  Did the Nets not get the demo that Lopez and Young have been shut down?  Geez.

we just beat the Nets.

Go Nets?

Or is it go whoever plays the Nets next.

This is getting confusing.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
What we really need is for Houston to beat Dallas tonight, and then lose to Phoenix tomorrow night.
Phoenix have a shot to beat Houston tomorrow if Tyson Chandler plays.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I think the Nets either lose out, or win just one more game. The real question is: will the Suns even win 1 more game? It's not looking likely, as they have no shame in tanking blatantly.

It's too bad you can't "un-win" games.
Yup

Those two losses to the Nets are looking pretty costly right now... Still i think many of us are pleasantly surprised by how good this pick has turned out to be

This is all good now...the Nets record will be worse than I initially predicted...I thought around 8th worst at the beginning of the season.  So I am happy.

I had the pick as 5th to 8th and now it's looking more like 3rd to 6th. I'm very happy if that turns out to be the case.

Fun fact: Despite Brooklyn having the 4th worst record, the Celtics have a better chance of getting the 1st pick than they do the 4th. Most likely single slot is 5th, at 35%, followed by 6th, at 16%.

Yeah that's one of the funny things about the draft lottery. Lots of polls going round about picking 4th and who we'd choose. Highly unlikely we will pick there. We'll either get luck and get one of Simmons, Ingram, Bender or take whichever of Murray, Hield and Brown is left.

At the beginning of the year, I said the Nets were at best a 30-win team with some real downside potential.

I'd like to thank the Nets for reaching their potential.

The Suns will keep Booker as one of their key building blocks.  His emergence might have helped save McD's job over there after the major disappointment this season.

What are potential teams next season that are going to challenge Brooklyn in the lottery next season? Which lottery teams are going to rise? Which are going to fall? Which playoff teams are set to crumble?
Philly adds a high lottery pick, probably not another big. Will be halfway bad.
LAL - same as this year.
Suns - bledsoe, Knight, Booker, and a high lottery pick - decent team.
Brooklyn - probably trades Brook and Young - totally bottom out for picks in drafts.
Twolves get better
N.O. - who knows
Chicago - might go into tank mode.
