Dallas lost tonight and are 5-5 in their last 10. And they have Heat, Spurs and Memphis coming up. Hopefully they start to falter a bit.
Was looking at their schedule also. Seems like they have it pretty tough from here on out.

And Deron Williams just went down with an injury.

It may work out to our benefit that the Nets play the majority of their games against the 76ers in the 2nd half of the season where Philly are looking much more competitive. Those 'Philly cupcakes' aren't looking like such cupcakes right now.

In other news DeMarcus Cousins sat out yesterday with an ankle sprain. Hopefully he's OK for the Kings' game in Brooklyn on Friday.

I am a bit nervous about Brooklyn's run home, these are their next 14:

Pacers
Kings
@76ers
Nuggets
Grizzlies
Knicks
Hornets
@Trail Blazers
@Suns
@Jazz
@Clippers
@Lakers
@Nuggets
@Twolves

There are some very winnable games there and the way Lakers, Wolves are going I am worried, my only hope is that a new HC for Suns gives the players a kick in the ass to win more.

My guess is that they win 3 of those... and as someone said that could be the difference between 3rd and 5th worst. If they win only 2 then that would be AMAZING!

How have the Nets done since I predicted they would go on a ten game losing streak? I think they have only won one game since.

I don't remember exactly when you said it, but I seem to remember promising you a TP if you nailed it. Seems to me that you did. +1

I'm also at 4 although the bias would be to the upside (i.e., 5-9 instead of 4-10). 3 of the games are the second day of a BTB: @PHL, @LAL, @MN.

But the Suns' next 14 is Toronto, Houston, Utah, OKC, GS, Houston, SA, @LAC, Brooklyn, Memphis, @Charlotte, @Miami, @Orlando, @Memphis.

I just have a very hard time figuring out how the Nets don't win two more games than the Suns, given their schedules.

What stings is that we lost to Brooklyn twice. If we had beaten them like we should have, they would have been in a deeper hole.

Remember that thread last year about the "two games that would live in infamy," or whatever it was called? Maybe we need to start another one...

Wow the Wolves lost to the Lakers last night... pathetic! Would have really helped us if Minny won as I doubt the Nets catch the very-clearly tanking Lake Show.

SO many people overlook the Wolves saying they won't be worse than the Nets, but I am not sure about that. Minny & the Suns are scary bad/tanking.

I'm one. I just don't see how Minny could pull it off (Imagine a 4th consecutive 1st draft pick making it to their team.). Of course, I also thought that Minny could be a playoff team.

We really need a loss tonight. Brooklyn's schedule is about as easy as it gets between now and mid-March. Even after that, it doesn't get too much worse.

This is all going to come down to those Nets vs Suns and Nets vs Minny games.

What is wrong with Minnesota?  The West is nowhere near as tough this year and they have a decent amount of talent, yet still suck.

I think it's three things.

1.  Youth.  Their three most talented players (Wiggins, Towns, Lavine) are either 21 or turn 21 this year.  Players that young just don't win in the NBA.

2.  Coaching.  Sam Mitchell is pretty clearly better at looking like an NBA head coach than he is at being one.

3.  Ricky Rubio.  Guy was supposed to be the centerpiece of their franchise but he's turned out to be a very-good-but-not-great point guard who is so bad on offense he makes Rondo look like Bernard King.

I'd be inclined to say #2 is the biggest issue.

I think all 3 are spot on.  it's bad enough to question how much influence 'winning' vets like KG and Prince are having on that team.
