Ok ....ITS TUFF TASK

but I'm cheering for the Heat to beat the Nets

This is not tough at all. Any NBA team against the Nets for the next three years should be _____ Celtics.

Now if The Nets ever play the Taliban hmmmmmmm, does it help the Celtics?
doesnt matter since the taliban would win. heck, they are undefeated in wars so far.  :-\
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Last night's Nets loss was huge! I really, reallllyyy hope they lose their next two @ MIA and @ ORL (although, like you never know what to expect from the Cs, same goes for never knowing what to expect from the Nets).

Let's just hope they lose their next two and we just take care of business this time and win BOTH against the Nets - then the Nets would be 8-26, and I'd feel MUCH better about them finishing in the bottom three.... :)

Hey, joking or not, I think there are rules against using that kind of language here.

;)

That was actually really funny.

The situation in Phoenix bears watching. With the coaching upheaval and the injury to Bledsoe, I think they could go on a losing streak that bumps Brooklyn from the 3rd to 4th.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Been saying that for a while. There is no guarantee that the Brooklyn pick will be in the TOP 3, or even in TOP 5. The situation in Phoenix is not good with Bledsoe out. They don't have a deep squad and the quality to make the playoffs, so they could easily go in a fire sale mode (if they didn't sign Ty Chandler for that long, or if he's younger, I would be on board to bring him to Boston).
The same could happen with Portland, Minny, Sactown, Utah, Milwaukee, Denver and New Orleans. There is still about fifty games to play until the end of the season and so much uncertainty. The Nets are not a bad team as Lakers and Sixers, and other mentioned teams are not that much better, just got some luck at this point in the season.
If I was Danny, I would consider trading the pick before trade deadline for a young, proven go to scorer (big or a SF).

The Suns fans are completely checked out on their team around the internet and all are already pro tank, as one would expect.  What's funny though is that they think getting the 4th best lottery odds is very optimistic and nobody thinks that they can catch the Nets.

https://www.reddit.com/r/suns/comments/3yf5fv/as_of_today_there_are_so_many_decent_teams_in_the/

Also, this is funny (from BrightSideoftheSun.com):

They still have Brandon Knight, who is better than anybody on the Nets by a longshot and Bledsoe will be back. Their coach still wants to win to keep his job.  The Suns will win a minimum of 5 games between now and All-Star Break (weekend of February 14th), do you honestly think that the Nets will win more than that over that time?   The Suns are going to lose their next couple games (against the Cavs, Spurs and Thunder), but then play some cupcakes.

They're the biggest impediment to us getting the 3rd pick, though.  The Bucks, Pelicans and Wolves are all going to try to win games and all have more talented rosters than the Nets.  The Lakers are even trying to win.  I don't really see a scenario where the Nets are anything better (worse?) than a bottom 5 team, and even that would give us a 30% chance at a top 3 pick.  3rd worse gives us a 46.9% chance, so it's not the end of the world.

Why do people keep assuming that the Nets will get better while other teams will get worse? A healthy Nets squad is good enough for the 3rd worst team in the NBA.

Brooklyn is a bottom-5 team.  bank on it.  no need to panic that someone else will out-stink them

My original post was stating that I'm worried they will go from 3rd to 4th, I agree that they are obviously a bottom 5 team. I think the second tier ends at 5 so as long as we can get in the top 5 we are good.

We'll do just fine in the top 5.  really hoping that no matter where they are in the top 5 (looking like top 3 right now) that they leapfrog both the Sixers and Lakers just for the extra satisfaction of laughing in their tanking faces.

Well I don't know why people think that they are a lock to be a top 3 or top 5 worst team in the league.
As I stated before I think they are already better then lakers and sixers. The Phoenix are not getting in the playoffs thats for sure. They could easily trade Chandler, Morris, Tucker, Teletovic or others, and there goes your core. Thats 3 very bad teams who are worse then the nets with fifty games to play.
The same situation can happen in denver and utah. Utah is playing ok considering all circuimstances (injury to Exum, Gobbert and Burks). They have a thin squad and could easily go in other direction if things don't go in their direction.
Denver will trade their veterans and will go in tank mode that is for sure. They are not good right now and they will bot get better, at least not this season.
The main reason why I think Nets might surprise is thet they do not have incentive to suck. Ok they are not contenders but I think they will do everything to escape that bottom 3 unlike lal, phi and other teams who could change their tactics.
I'm not saying we should give up that pick for a middle class player but for a big dog.
