whatever you call it,something has enabled him to score and withstand cousins size and bulk and i just used a generic understanding of power base
-i don't see how sully has made it this far with stevens idea of space and pace
-maybe sully is a one off
Rollie, if you thought I came at you hard, sorry dude.
I think he is poorly suited for Steven's system. I think we went on our big win streaks when we got IT and Sully was injured. We ran more, our bigs stayed in front their man more. Team was more fun to watch. A lot of this was because of tough guy Crowder and IT, but losing Sully might have played a small factor as well. That being said, he was argubly one of our finer bigs against CLE in the playoffs.
Sully knows how to use his body, it will be a big question if he can use his new body. I am all for getting rid of guys who can D up, he deserves a shot this year, though.
As I've argued plenty of times before, whether with Sully or not, our team after the trade deadline was quite different from a roster perspective (had influx of talent). So, a with Sully / without Sully type of comparison is very very hard to make and incredibly noisy.
It also tends to ignore how after we traded Green our team was incrementally playing better (while still with Sullinger) with a 50% winning percentage if not mistaken and that in addition to incoming new talent explains more how we won than an explanation of playing without Sullinger.
"After Green was traded, we went 8-8. Seven of those loses against playoffs teams, 5 against teams considered powerhouses in the league: Chicago, Golden State, Hawks, Houston, Clippers.
We had a stretch where we lost 3 in a row against Chicago, Atlanta, Clippers, and then went 7-5 the rest of he way until Sully went down."
The rest are opinion based observations, which is fine.
