If Sully does come into the season in great shape, he can be a very productive player for the team. Here's a video of his rookie highlights. I don't know about you but to me he looks noticeably thinner in this vid, and because of that, he was much more active on the court. If he can get back to that, Sully could be the 4 of the future that we want him to be.

I think to build around a guy that slow is folly.   But I think if he is more active and in shape it will help the team.   Maybe Ainge got his rim protector in Amir that can cover his back on D.   He will need it folks.   I am still not sold on him as  long range marksman though.

We will just have to wait and see.

Boxing is great for weight loss and hand speed.   Too bad he is not jumping rope to increase his foot speed.

Kevin O'Connor is sold. His conditioning is going to be of huge importance to the Celtics this season. If he were to actually get consistent from behind the arc (say 33-35%) we could potentially have 3 bigs with 3 point range.

I think everyone forgets just how young these players are when they enter the NBA.  Plus, they have been stars all their life.  In Sullinger's case, he probably never had to work really hard to be successful.

I remain high on Sullinger.  I project him as our starting PF and will be in all star neighborhood but not quite an all star (after all even Antoine Walker was an All Star).

Of course he does still need to prove that he can get into NBA condition (looks like he has figured that out) but more importantly, sustain that for a season.  We'll see.

That is a huge if given past improvement too.  It is more realistic to expect another +1% which he did last year.  Which would get him to 30% which is much more palatable.

We heard this crap last year, supposed improvement, how many more times?  Every year is supposed to be the year he puts it all together, last year, he had the gall to say he was in the best shape of his life.  He was in poor shape then.   I think that his year he will be in better shape but he does not have an option, Lee is here, Amir is here and it is a contract year.

The real question on Sullinger on all this change is it because he has had a change of heart, or the contract year?

I think he has definitely worked on his hands and his shot especially in the post.  But I think that things probably came easy for him.

I think he thinks he is all world.  That is a problem because he is not.  But from time to time, he tries to play hero ball.   Amir may do wonders for his D, which is poor.  But do you really want Jared shooting threes  at .29% when Amir does it at .41%?   I think Sully should be the down low guy on offense where his offensive rebounding and rebounding helps us more than his three point shooting.  This maximizes his strengths and minimizes what presently is a weakness that some think he is magically going to turn it around.

His 2K screenshot for 2k16 makes him look really fat. They did body scans this year, but I'm not sure when the scan was done or how accurate it really is. (2k jerseys DO make players look fatter than they really are...)
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

He looks good.

Looking forward to seeing the doubters proved wrong - including himself.

I wish him well this upcoming season.

He's definitely looking better, which is great.

But how will he do without John Lucas there breathing over him all day?

Let's hope he can keep it together long enough for a monster start--and a quick trade by Danny.
