Hibbert doesn't work for this team right now .   He is lumbering , confused on assignments , has tuff time staying engaged on court ......and seems to tire very quick for his age ......none of this would make me want him out there messing up a high energy , pressing defensive minded group.

Harris not a bad fit . He is agile and young .

Monore would be ok against certain teams ......and lineup where teams force a large ruff situation on CBS normal pace.

Harris and/or Monroe turns the Celtics into a 50 win team in my opinion. Hibbert is too much of a question mark over an entire season to be counted on as a sure thing. If Hibbert returns to his All-Star esque form then yeah, the Celtics could win 50 games with him, but that's doubtful at this juncture.

I dunno if it turns them into a 50 win team, but it provides a bit of a framework.

IT, Harris, Monroe.  Add in a few supporting players -- Rozier, Smart, Crowder, Olynyk, Zeller, Hunter, Young.

That's a solid enough group that with some Brad Stevens magic, a free agent or soon-to-be-free-agent star player might say, "Hey, that team could be pretty good if I went there."
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Tobias Harris and monroe wouldn't be a bad fight.  Both young guys with a future.  They aren't the big names like Aldridge and Love, but Harris is a quality 22 year old SF who could get better.  Greg Monroe is 25.   I think they'd need to go all-in on acquiring a defensive big to put next to Monroe, right?   IF nobody takes a leap, it probably wins 45...  but if everything clicks and someone like Smart takes the next step, it could win 50 maybe.

I think they are already close to 50 wins with the team that finished the floor last season.

we would need an Ibaka type big man next to Monroe, who can stretch the defense with his shooting , and contain the pick and roll and protect the paint.

I'd even consider trading james young with bradley to do that. Maybe even sully too.  I think all those guys would be on the table. If we can rid ourselves of gerald wallace of course.

I think everyone is on the table at this point.

I think Roy Hibbert in himself will give us 5 wins by being a rim protector. Adding Harris with him would be fantastic along with Hibbert.

I understand that the game is changing into a fast oriented game, but I'd take Hibbert's rim protection anytime. At the end of the day, you need to stop teams from scoring and he can help us doing that.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

I dont want hibbert.  Monroe and Harris would be good pickups though. Hibbert is a terrible pick and roll center.

I'd more consider trading them.  Not sure I would but harris and monroe are not bad.   they aren't necessarily better than sully, bradley and james young. But on this roster would make some sense.  I think in general here and in lala land(the internet and fandom) people undervalue our own players and are way too trade  happy, when that's not what basketball or building a team is about.

You would even "consider" trading James Young? Really? I would give him away for a rack of basketballs. He is terrible. Can't shoot in the NBA 2-pt or 3-pt FG, can't shoot free throws, can't get his own shot, can't rebound, can't play defense. I am amazed by the people that are drinking the koolaid thinking this kid is good. He is NOT. I doubt he is in the NBA after this year. Hopefully he has a college education that he can use. He seems like a nice kid but he is NOT an NBA player. I'm not sure how many years we are supposed to wait until the kid finally can become a role player.

I mean them.  I just meant people overrate other players and undervalue our own.  Sully, Bradley and james y oung compared to monroe and harris is closer than it seems as far as value.  That's actually a pretty equal trade in my book that I would "consider".  I'm as bad as Ainge when it comes to that stuff though but for good reason.  I'm not that high on Harris or Monroe and Sully, Bradley and  young are difficult to give up.

I think you overvalue monroe and harris.  This is why the celtics just do their thing btw and usually don't go along with what the internet says.   Because most people on the internet aren't too  bright sometimes.
