say you can sign Harris and then Hibbert or Monroe through s+t or clearing enough cap to sign both outright . Is that a 50 win, top 5 team in the east ?

Say we have to give up Bradley  ( I think Rozier has the same Defensive potential, while being a better ballhandler/finisher) and a few picks to land Harris if Orlando matches .

PG: IT                                / Turner
SG: Smart                          / Young
SF: Harris                          / Crowder
PF: Sully                             / KO
C: Monroe or Hibbert        / Zeller

That team has potential to be a 50 win, top 4-5 seed in the East IMO. It's obviously not a true contender , but that is a young team that has a chance to grow together . Plus we would be picking more assets up as future trade chips for when a big fish becomes available .

It would also give us a foundation for free agents in the next few years to be attracted to . Add in all our draft picks, hopefully a few high lottery ones from Brooklyn's picks, and you are set up really good heading into the future .

I hope they continue to play as a team the way they did last season. Let's hope the media trade talks with Smart, Sully, KO, Young and AB didn't affect their will power to win as a team.
Let's see what happen this month, hopefully this core won't be destroyed just for 1 talent FA.
I'd rather DA reload this roster instead of trading them.

IMO that is a very good team in the East if it is Monroe.

Hibbert is everything the NBA doesn't like right now, slow .......

So Monroe yes, Hibbert No!

Harris and Hibbert, maybe. Don't think so for Harris and Monroe.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

I'd call this a successful off-season. I like this team's potential very much. Our starting 5 would have an average age of 23-24 years with plenty of room to grow.

I do not think that will be a 50-win team in its first year. I think a record similar to the Wizards last year (46-36) would be realistic.

Year 2 and on-wards, I think this team has a legit chance of winning the East.
"We do so many defensive drills in practice, I come home and I'm putting the press on my woman, denying her the ball.
Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

Monroe in UFA, and Hibbert should be free / salary dump (Wallace + 2nd rounder + Mickey or something small).

Frankly,  I take Zeller over Hibbert anyways. He's more useful.

Harris hopefully doesn't get matched and we give up zero assets.

Monroe / Zeller
Sully / KO / Mickey
Harris / Crowder / Turner
Bradley / Butler / Young
Smart / Thomas / Rozier / Thornton

I think Monroe & KO and Zeller & Sully pair better with their inside outside games but that depth chart looks strong.

I give them up to 50 wins. It's just depth and great coaching in your face.

We can't sign both Harris and Monroe.
If we get someone to takes Wallace's deal for a draft pick we could.

To answer the OP's question, it could depending on how the new pieces fit, the development of the young players and injuries.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

We can't sign both Harris and Monroe.

Dump Wallace or Dump Turner and stretch Wallace, yes you can. And those are two of the simplest solutions.

Of course, S&T possibilities exists as well.

You can't just dump players and their salaries that affect the cap go away. Do you think Wallace would still be on the team if they could dump his 11+ million and get it off the books? Wow!

I like Tobias Harris very much and he fits a clear need for this team.  If you think that the run we went on after January is repeatable, simply adding Harris makes this a 50 win team.
