You are all focusing of what would be the better deal for Sacramento, but totally ignore what Sacramento really wants.

I was just about to post this, so TP... did anyone actually read the article?!  The Kings stated that a top draft pick is not that enticing to them.  Instead, they want talented players back.  Therefore, the Lakers don't have as strong of a position as some are stating.

Except for the fact that the Lakers can very very easily trade #2 for "veterans" that the Queens would prefer.  If the Lakers want Cousins badly enough, nobody outside of the 76ers or Wolves are beating them in a bidding war.

Unless the Cavs call up and offer a package built around Kyrie Irving or something... and then LeBron signs his honeyboo to the MLE this summer to fill the need at guard.

Actually now that I think about it, there are plenty of teams that could offer all-stars for Cousins.

Boston isn't a player in this race, though.

Please someone tell me why Sac would want to trade Cousins to LA if there are other good valuable offers on the table?  Why would they trade their best player to a team not only in their own conference, but in their own division?  When was the last time a superstar in his absolute prime was traded into the same division?

completely agree on that point.  Sac may not be run by geniuses but even they couldn't be that foolish.

Rumor is that DC demanded a trade from Sac-Town more than a month ago....something has got to give if all of these reports are true.

#2(Okafur), Randle, Clarkson

for

Cousins

Carter to the Nets?
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

those aren't established players that Sac supposedly wants.

Neither Okafur or Randle have played an NBA game.  Randle in fact was a #7 behind Smart in the draft.  Smart proved he's an NBA calibur player whereas Randle has not.  Smart has shown he can have a bigger impact on a team being successful than Clarkson regardless of the ROY voting.

Danny's got a lot more picks to throw at Sac than anyone.  The #2 this year is pretty gaudy as an asset but so are those Nets picks when that franchise is looking like a trainwreck for years to come.

Ok, tp for finding that.  Ok maybe 1, maybe.  In hindsight, that trade was 8 dimes for a dollar bill.

Who in their right mind would look at their team, see that they have the best center in the league, and then propose to trade him to the Nuggets for a bottom top 10 PG and an average SF?
