For sure you have to like Wiggins future Parker if he stays off of the cheese burgers. But Aaron Gordon at four and exum at five? That just seems really weak and someone posted we could have got the effects from the Kings in a Rondo trade but who would we have taken the best player was Peyton another point guard Dario Saric the draft and stash? terrible draft I would bet money that this draft will be better. And I like smart I do but number 6 and we did well in that draft. Usually there is more talent. If we had #6 this year a lot more options.

It's a waiting game to see. Usually most drafts are talked about in the same way. Last year guys 5-10 were talked about much like the guys 5-10 are being talked about this year. It happens every year. I wouldn't be too confident yet that this draft will be much better, but it certainly could be.

that's why everybody was so disappointed when we didn't get a top three pic. it was basically a three player draft, to get excited about anyway. Again I love smart and he could be a key defender on a high Kevel team. he's got a long way to go on offense.

Exum was one player I didn't like before the draft and glad he was gone before we pick
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I have to disagree. I scout the dress pretty hard and prospects like Looney Portis Stanley Johnson the Euro guys. Last year there were no sf prospects after parker Wiggins, this year at 16 I would be thrilled with Portis, Looney, Hollis Jefferson, grant, oubre, booker or Vaughn. Or I would be ecstatic to get Stanley J. Or Turner. This will be a great draft its key for the ainge's to get the picks right. Hell I'm even pumped about the shot blockers at 28 and 33.

What do you guys think the over/under is on when someone makes a similar thread about next year's draft? 11.5 months?
I'm bitter.

Too soon the judge the previous draft.  Jabari, Embiid, Smart, Exum, Gordon, Randle and Vonleh were considered top prospects.  None of them had great rookie campaigns, but they could all still develop into special players.

People thought the 2013 Draft was trash and a few guys made noise in year 2.  WHen we look back on the 2013 draft in retrospect, it's not going to be as bad as we thought.

On the flip side, half this upcoming draft could end up being total garbage.   Willie Cauley Stein, for instance... dude puts up worse stats in College than Bismack Biyombo puts up in the NBA... and yet people have him pegged as some franchise center.  We'll see...

And with all the buzz surrounding Townes and Okafor, I've seen plenty of experts say Joel Embiid has a better future than both of them.

You are failing to take into account the systems that some players played in. For teams like Orlando and Charlotte, the coaches there prioritized getting meaningless wins rather than player development. Noah was basically benched all season, and Gordon played like 15 mins a game. These coaches sacrificed talent in order to pursue next seasons job. Also have to consider injuries, Jabari, Embiid, Gordon, Randle, and arguably Smart were all sidelined at some point.

I think we should know better than to write off a draft class after a single season.  Just compare how the 2013 draft was perceived after the first year compared to how it's looking now.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

What are you talking about 2013 was even more garbage. How about A Bennett, victor O, Otto porter, Cody zeller, can you honestly tell me that's not garbage at 1,2,3, and 4. Horrible.

Biyombo just flat out sucks. He's an undersized center with zero offensive skills and not enough size to actually play center. That's why he doesn't even get playing time on a bad team after 4 years in the league. Comparing anyone's college stats to someone else's NBA stats is meaningless.

What jumps out at me the most about WCS is that he has the defensive ability to stay with quick guards and even trap them into the corner of the court, and the athleticism and size to dominate defensively in the paint. We haven't had that on the celtics since KG left. WCS has a lot of the defensive talents that a young KG had. He also runs the floor extremely well, and his jumper looks better and better. Many teams are going to be after this guy between now and draft night.

We are in a microwave society and it is way too early to tell what kind of career any of last year's picks will have. I was rooting against the Celtics to make the playoffs this year so we would be in the lottery again just like Ainge was but now that we have 16 and 28 and 2nd round picks I am hoping Ainge can make a great blockbuster trade on draft night because the last thing the Celtics need is 4 more rookies on the roster. Hope Ainge can trade for some quality veterans and get a quality free agent but if Ainge is stuck with 4 more draft picks for next year's roster we will probably be a lottery team along with having the Nets lottery pick if they end up being bad too which will be fine with me also but I am waiting to see if a team is willing to give Ainge what he wants in a blockbuster trade first. Draft night could be real interesting and even if a blockbuster move isn't made on draft night it could still have later on this summer or before the February trade deadline. I am all in on the rebuilding job and even though i against trading any of the Nets picks i would part with them for someone like Cousins. Ainge has more chips to play with than anybody. Questions is when or if he will cash some of his chips in on a blockbuster trade!!!!

Btw, I couldn't find any video or documentary about the Celtic's war room. Is there any video available on the internet? Thanks

Last year's draft was really good already.

Wiggins had one of the best rookie campaigns in a while, I think.

Smart was a starter on a playoff team and is already posting starting caliber defensive stats.

Elfrid Payton looks like Rondo 2.0.

Guys like Gordon, Exum, Vonleh, etc. we knew were gonna take time.

Late finds like Jusuf Nurkic, Rodney Hood, KJ McDaniels, Jerami Grant, Jordan Clarkson, etc. all looked impressive for significant portions of the year.

Jabari had a really good half season for a rookie. If he can stay healthy, I predict quite confidently that he'll be a perennial All-Star.

While injuries to Embiid and Randle do warrant concern, that doesn't mean they still can't be really good players - maybe even All-Stars.

Saric has also yet to come over, along with other Euro prospects.

Stauskas is the only guy who legitimately looks like a bust after one seasom.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.
