Wembanyama also became the second-youngest player in NBA history to have 50+ points and 20+ rebounds in a game.

Five youngest players with 50+ points, 20+ rebounds in a game:
▪️Bob McAdoo, 22 years, 150 days
▪️Victor Wembanyama, 22 years, 304 days
▪️Anthony Davis, 22 years, 347 days
▪️Elvin Hayes, 22 years, 362 days
▪️Wilt Chamberlain, 23 years, 83 days

He's on a path to GOAT.  If he stays healthy he's got Wilt and Russell in him.  Ten years from now there might be no debate.  But that means health and championships.

Is there a playoff team that could feasibly add Sabonis and meaningfully benefit?

Maybe Golden State. Two options:

(1) Jimmy Butler for D Sabonis. Jimmy has been hurt so much that this could be worthwhile for GSW. Lendeborg and Draymond as starting forwards next to D Sabonis.

(2) Draymond & Porzinigis for D Sabonis. Keep Jimmy and have Lendeborg next to D Sabonis.

I'd like to see them keep Jimmy if they added Sabonis. Replace Draymond with Sabonis. Keep their theoretical strength on the wing if Jimmy can still play at a high level.

2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Through eight games and two weeks of the 2026-27 season, Dallas Mavericks big man Dereck Lively II has not taken the floor. He is still rehabbing his injured right foot after having a second surgery on it last December, and the Mavericks have not provided a timeline for his return.

It seems like he is still a ways away from returning to the floor, given the limited updates about his status that have been provided by the team, and the uncertainty surrounding his return makes his future in Dallas look more questionable.

Quote
Lively has played just 98 games since being drafted in 2023, with 55 of those games being in his rookie year. Since then, he has played 43 games, and just seven last season.

Lively was so good on that Mavs team that made the Finals. That was his rookie year. So only 43 games since BOS won the title in 2024.

He looked like he was going to be one of the next great defender/rebounder bigs. Like Tyson Chandler. It would a shame if this injury has taken that away.

Quote
The last game that he played in was November 21, 2025, which was 349 days ago. He still isn't practicing, and while Dusty May said that he is "making major progress," his return still doesn't seem close.

A year out. I don't like hearing that he isn't even practicing yet.

"I wonder who Dusty May is". Oh, he is the Mavs new head coach this year. Oh, he is the guy from Michigan. Right. Okay.

I was wondering if there was any way Dallas could get him. They lack high priced contracts to trade. Kyrie is the only one. They could put together 3 middle contracts.

Gafford + Aldama + Caleb Martin for D Sabonis

Probably need to include a 1st round pick. Gafford and Aldama would be starters for them. Gafford a short term starter. Aldama possibly a long term one. Caleb Martin a bench forward.

He seems to be taking longevity and durability extremely seriously. But I just can't believe someone that big and that quick can last.
