So, again - "Which one of these things is NOT like the other, LOL?"

One of these things is a superstar and actually makes his team better!  :D

What do I win?

Hmmm...you know, Alex - that is a sketchy answer....may have to get your lifeline for that one. (Wrong show? lol)

If you mean "ChrisPaul" he must've left the "Superstar" tag at home for THREE STRAIGHT GAMES......if you meant Rondo, well....he "was" one of these for FOUR STRAIGHT YEARS:

And he has one of those shiny gold things, too :)

So, because you mentioned Superstar (Which Rondo, at times performed as), you win:

To play devil's advocate...
One could argue that Chris Paul has been a Top 3 player in the NBA while Rondo wasn't even in the Top 3 on his team.  It's a lot easier to win shiny gold things when you play with 3 Hall of Famers.  But I will give Rondo credit where credit is due...he was great back then, especially defensively.  He really was a perfect fit with the Big 3 because they needed someone to distribute the ball and Rondo was the best passer in the game.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

Good points.

Don't forget those triple doubles, too.

But the sad thing with CP3 is that "this year" was perhaps his best shot at getting a banner. OKC, HOU, GSW and perhaps Spurs (with LaMarcus in tow, perhaps) will ALL be better (and deeper) than Clips next year.

But yeah Rajon was a perfect fit for that team, and will be a perfect fit for someone again. Haven't seen the last of him.

I honestly hope that Rondo has a big comeback...it's not like a hate him and wish him to fail (but that may change if he signs with the Lakers).  He was fun to watch...one of the most creative passers ever.   Maybe this past year will be a wakeup call for him and he'll be more focused.

That's the thing, though.

I'm not so certain that even "IF" Rondo played at 2009-12 levels for DAL that it would've helped them much. The way that DAL is constructed made this more difficult to accomplish.

Blame that on Cuban.

But Rajon was the perfect fallguy - failed media 101, and coming into Dirk's Town. If DAL failed, it was going to be on Rondo.

Rondo was benched in Dallas for fighting with his coach and for playing like crap.

I maintain that "isn't a team player" is one of the emptiest phrases in any sports fan's lexicon.

I maintain that fighting with his coach, playing like crap, admitting to not playing defense = isn't a team player

In the case of Rondo, it is not an empty phrase...it's a dictionary description

Fair enough, but the Rondo admitting to not playing defense thing is one of the most misrepresented comments in modern Celtics history.

it is reasonable to misunderstand it if you have no idea what a self-depreciating comment is, particularly given the context, but it is not a blanket statement to bandy about like a moron.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Here is a Rondo hypothetical for a slow day:

If you were Ainge and you knew that Rondo was willing to come back on a very team friendly long term deal, and you knew that in this hypothetical he is back to prime form, what subsequent moves would you make?

Wow....if you really think that Rondo is/was better than Chris Paul then that explains a lot about your comments in this thread.

I said what Rondo was better than CP3 in his prime, before ACL injury (to me). Right now he is not the same player. Chris Paul is surrounded by some talents (coaches, players), but still can not win anything and he should be blamed when Rockets won amount of games in the row in the playoffs, when Clippers already hold 3-1 lead. I don't like CP3 and won't change it so there's no point for me to continue write about him. Have to admit what his flop skills is on very high level tho

Yup...I rooted for him when he played hard and stopped rooting for him when he stopped playing hard. Opinions change.

Okay. If this pointless scandal over his party in LA when he wasn't even supposed to play and Ainge didn't punished him outshines everything what he did on the court wearing a green jersey, okay then. You decided to change your opinion towards him (i'm sure media loved to heat things up) and focus on some bad things atm and it's your deal. He is not perfect and he makes mistakes, just like everyone human does.
He never giving up in playoffs when he was in Boston, played well and hard as he possibly can. I don't see a point to involving this drama from Dallas and hold by this side of story. It's a forum not about Dallas here. All i'm saying is whatever happening at this point of his career shouldn't matter to celtics fans, who does remember the past achievements what was reached. He has all reasons to be remembered as a good team player by celtics fans IMO it's okay if you don't want him back anymore and if you have a different view and hopes for the bright future (including avoiding him), but i'm really don't understand how is this drama in Mavs or anywhere else (when by the time he was so far away from your beloved team) is the new fundament to build a new opinion about a player who already left your team with some nice memories. He gave you emotions (cause i'm sure you were happy when Rondo played well or you probably were sad since you heard about his ACL). Celtics decided to trade him and got some value for him in exchange. He was thankful for all this years and said goodbye. End of story. What happening next hasn't any point. If you don't want to be thankful anymore what this player was on your team and played fine, okay. I'm not so sure why waste your time on ugly talk towards a guy who used to be a very significant/important player at least once.

A moron?  No need for name calling big fella.
I said it before and I will say it again...admitting to not playing defense is irrelevant.  He actually didn't play defense.
So I will fix one of my previous posts....

I don't know why you brought up the birthday party and his time in Dallas again.  In my last reply I summed it up....I rooted for him when he played hard and stopped rooting for him when he stopped playing hard.  Opinions change.  That's all.  In my OPINION, I thought Rondo was dogging it at the end of his time with the C's.  And to repeat another of my more recent posts, I hope he does well wherever he goes....I just don't want it to be here.  That ship has sailed.

We agree to disagree on this one.
Blake, Deandre and Barnes is not exactly the Big 3.  CP3 has not had a lot to work with.  When Austin Rivers is getting playing time, then the team can't be too good.

You're not a moron, I read a lot of "and he admitted to not playing defense!" from morons. Here and elsewhere.

You making all excuses for CP3, but Rondo after ACL came to the team with a new coach and very young players. He had to adjust to them. All of you would love to have such a players as Blake, Deandre and Barnes instead of current ones. CP3 and Clippers faced Rockets without point guard and were crashed after 3-1 lead, that's insane. Where was CP3 in defence against Corey Brewer and bench-co as Josh Smith? Why you didn't mention, what CP3 also was dogging somehow and does his leadership ability exist? He had all good chances at least to face GSW and appear in conference finals but nah. To me, a point guard who can't reach the finals can't be better. So yeah, let's disagree. I get that: when player is doing well, some of you guys truly truly adores him... but later it's easier to say what you always thought what he's a walking problem and nothing but worst. You voted for Rondo to be in All-star weekend but now it's easier way to say: he played around Hall of Famers. The next headline (i'm guessing) must be: he didn't do anything, wasn't really played so it didn't mean anything... or maybe people come up with something even more entertaining
