Rakeem Christmas is someone they should target with the early pick in the second round, if he isn't gone by then. He measured at just under 6'10" with a 7'5" wingspan and is solid on both ends of the floor. He also seems like a high character guy, the only downside is that he's on the older side (about to turn 24).

Acording to twitter the C's have met with Christian Wood, Stanley Johnson, Justin Anderson, and have a following meeting tomorrow with Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. RHJ and Anderson have work outs scheduled

BTW Rakeem Christmas looked really good in the game today. Really shot the ball well which was a surprise.

Interesting that they've met with Stanley Johnson.  He could go as early as #5 overall.  You have a limited amount of interviews, so to use one on someone that highly projected (no way he falls to 16) indicates Ainge is giving serious thought to trading up (especially since they have so many other picks to meet potential players for).

Edit: Also looks like they've met with Murray State PG Cameron Payne.

I think his stock really slipped later in the year. In fact, most recent mocks haven't had him above Charlotte or so at 9. I'm guessing we could trade up far enough to get him as long as his stock really doesn't rise during the combine and workouts.

He has dropped a lot towards the end of the season as you said most mocks had him going to Charlotte at 9. Then this week he measured 2 inches shorter than expected takin him from prototypical 3 who could play the 4 to a slightly undersized 3. I think he could drop a few more spots. He won't drop to 16 but I do think he could be in range

comebine update

Kelly Oubre met with the #Celtics today. Said the conversation focused a lot on defense. #Celticstalk

From Game 1
Some of the standouts that had Twitter and the analysts on ESPN2 buzzing included:

Rakeem Christmas: 20 points and six rebounds in the first scrimmage
Larry Nance, Jr: A lot of energy in the first scrimmage, five offensive rebounds
Andrew Harrison: 17 points in the second scrimmage, showed solid leadership of his team
Pat Connaughton: 44" max vertical leap, best recorded today and tied for second-best all time at the combine

2nd game
boxscore. Rumor is Chris Walker only played 5 min might have a concussion.

Celtics #1 criteria looks like is defense. Not a big surprise.  Not sure if Oubre can commit to that

RHJ would nod his head with joy if the Celts asked him what he thinks about playing hard D. But his offense still needs work. 16 might be a reach, though I would like to get him.

Does anyone know if they have done the bench press test yet?

Celtics also used one of their limited interviews on Justise Winslow, and another on WCS.  Really seems like the C's will strongly look into trading into the 6-10 range.  Who knows if it will happen, but I'm about willing to bet it will at this point.

I read (forget where) that they were interviewing prospects higher up than their slot because those prospects probably wouldn't be willing to work out for them, so if they don't talk to them now they won't get to talk to them at all.

This is likely true.  At the same time, they also use these interviews to sell some prospects on coming to Boston for a workout at all.  Draftees have a limited amount of teams they can visit (just due to time between now and the draft), and are more likely to visit ones who expressed an interest in them at the combine than those that didn't.  So foregoing the opportunity to meet with some other players in range of their current picks definitely indicates a real interest in trading up.

I've long liked him as a 2nd round draft and stash (or simply as a project they bring over right away).
