The 5 vs 5 should be very interesting. I assume they will have 4 teams of 9 guys.

Centers (or 4/5s)

Christmas
Jaiteh
Johnson
Upshaw

If the guards allow the pace to slow this could be very interesting. Jaiteh, Johnson and Upshaw all have the physical potential to be 1st round picks. Christmas may struggle if placed as a center and forced to play inside vs these big bodies but he does have the most refined game out of the group.

PF

Ashley
R Holmes
Hunter
Mickey
Nance
Thomas
Walker
White
Williams .

This group has some high level athletes. Particularly Walker who has the physical tools to be elite just never got it together at Florida. Should be great match-ups here. Alan Williams is listed as a forward but I would think he would be next man up to play center if they have 5 teams. I haven't seen alot of him but he is a Sully esque wide body who dominated his level of competition.

SF

Dawson
J Holmes
Qualls
Tokoto
Connaughton

A mixed group with some 3/2 and some 4/3 not a ton of high end talent but Dawson and Holmes have the makings of utility players. Qualls could be the stud of the group he is a super athlete who plays with great energy. Tokoto is a well rounded player with elite athletism I just dont know that he has a calling card in his skill set.

SG

Brown
Frazier
Harrison
Harvey
Hawkins
Graham
Powell
Petteway
Thorton
Wells

To me the most interesting play to watch will be Harvey. If he dominates he could climb in this draft.

PG (or undersize SGs)

Boatright
Cook
Paula (aka George Lucas)
Hanlan
Harrison
Randle
Sykes
Young
Rozier

This is a talented group with the unknown being the Brazilian Paula. He is highly regarded on many draft sites and will really be tested by this group. With the exception of maybe Sykes I wouldn't be shocked to see any of these guards drafted in the top 40. Harrison will also be an interesting player to watch. He came into highschool viewed as a sure thing elite prospect and is now fighting to become a 1st round pick. (added Rozier)

I'm worried about Vezenkov not being at the combine. Does this mean he is out of the draft? I know he has a bunch of offers from teams in Europe.

The 5v5 does look good like there could be some interesting match-ups . I actually like 4v4 more just to evaluate speed, technique and reaction with more space to work.

Ford is now reporting that Rozier will play in the 5 vs 5. The PG group will really be a battle. Most of the players listed are similar size/skill set so head to head should be interesting.

RJ Hunter shot 19-25 from NBA 3 in drills. Sam Dekker went 16-for-25 in same draft workout here in Chicago.

The Combine Special is on NBA TV, just watched Kelly Oubre's interview. Came across as extremely confident to the point of arrogant, which IMO is not a bad attitude for a scorer.

Thought he had a good point by addressing the criticism that he would have benefitted from another year in school by saying that maybe he'll benefit from the open court of the NBA.

Think he's this year's Zach La'Vine.

TP I think that's a great comparison.

LaVine was a guy whose stock skyrocketed because of his athleticism, which I think will happen to Oubre.

LaVine also showed flashes of greatness but overall didn't positively contribute to his team much. That's what I expect from Oubre this year.

That'll especially depend upon where he's drafted. Think he could catch fire in an environment like Phoenix who could use a shot creator on the wing, PJ Tucker isn't exactly getting you over the hump.

Devin Booker came across as the type of player who will handle success well. Apparently he has the Synergy app on his phone and watches Klay Thomspson footage from specific situations. Russillo used to say that cost several thousand dollars a year to subscribe to. Leads ya to think he's got a good support system around him.

I'd be pleased with Booker if we keep the 16th pick.  Elite shooters, especially those with decent size for their position, can always carve out a role.  That said, I hope Ainge has other plans with that pick and his three other picks.

Myles Turner is def BPA at 9-16. It would be stupid not to trade a player to either MIA or IND for their pick. Keep 16, because even though some people think Kelly Oubre is this years Zack Lavine, this time last year Lavine was a late first rounder....I'd keep an eye on Cliff Alexander. Cliff is the type of player that could shoot up in the draft based on how he does at the combine.

What day are the measurements taken? And what day are the athletic results taken?
