Looney has beautiful shooting form. The concern with me is not his jump-shot. It is his lack of ball-handling and shot-creation ability. Too limited to be a SF. Not well rounded enough offensively. Doesn't create well enough.
I think Looney is better suited to the PF position. He will be able to get into scoring opportunities much better vs PFs than SFs. His quickness in transition and ability to stretch the floor will be valuable. I love Looney's rebounding and defensive versatility. Play with toughness. I think Looney projects very well as an undersized quick PF.
A combo forward but more of a PF/SF than a SF/PF. Like Draymond Green.
Tp I completely agree with this, he certainly isn't an SF.
I think he can be a really good stretch 4 though and in todays NBA that is a valuable thing. With his length I think he could even provide some rim protection when he fills out.
If the C's draft him I will be very happy, because he is a high upside player due to his length and shooting. He is however a project and will need to add weight, improve his conditioning and keep improving as a shooter.
