Two minimum....three Max's.

No way Whiteside got one game for mauling Olynyk.... it's a joke if he's suspended for more than a game

nbadraft.net could be onto something comparing Smart to Dwade

Not until he breaks a guys arm Rondo style... Smart gets frustrated, Wade actually tries to injure people. Our best player is out for 3 weeks because of that thug, until Smart really injures someone he's not on Wade's level in this regard

I know but Marcus is becoming more devious as the season is getting more stressful.

I don't know what he was thinking punching Bonner like that.   Pretty dumb to think you won't get caught after such move. It was so blatant

I'll wait til we hear from Smart but I didn't see him winding up like I keep hearing on TV. The arm clearly comes up because he got tangled from the other player.

Don't get me wrong it was really stupid... I don't think his intent was to hurt Bonner though, I think it's like the fan incident at Ok St, he just has trouble controlling his emotions at times and he needs to work on it...

I think psychopathic Wade actually looks for ways to hurt people, the NBA version of Suh.

Whiteside foul could sort of pass for a basketball move.  I mean barely (lets say it was Shaq he tried that against instead of KO)

What Smart did , had nothing to do with basketball. He punches Bonner in the stomach, 1 game for sure. But to aim and punch someone in the groin (not one but two players in a row) likely is going to result in being suspended for multiple games at min

Such a weird situation, like I really don't think Smart went there to deliberately throw a punch in the groin. In some angles it looks that way, in some moments I kinda see it being just a bad timing incident of him bringing his arm back from its previous position, at others it seems like he saw Bonner's shoulder coming towards his head and he reacted to it.

I really don't know what to make of it. I don't like dirty players, so hopefully this is really not a case of Smart going after someone with a punch, but more of a reflex thing.

the worse part is that Wade gets away with murder left and right.  A guy twist his ankles on a prior play and wade will "accidentally" try to trip him on the same leg. Throw out his hips on the same leg.  That's how subtle but dirty wade is

I don't think Olynyk had the ball if I remember correctly, Whiteside just attacked him... Also Harden only got one game for literally kicking Lebron in the groin

exactly. And the arm came up high because he got it tangled from the other guy. There was no wind up.

Smart plays hard and was coming in hot.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I am thinking one game.

The wind-up was more like a flailing arm when he was breaking through the first screen. I realize it turned into wind-up, but more because his arm was already out there. Also, there was absolutely no type of injury out of this - pinching Bonner would have hurt him more. Obviously it was a bonehead move, but it was nowhere near the severity of the fan-shoving incident last year.

I think people are just freaking out because it is fresh in their minds.

It really is sick that he gets away with it...

Meh. One thing that always annoyed me about KG is when he punked rookies in games that were meaningless. One thing that I always liked about KG is that winning, competing, was everything, that and loyalty.

If you want Marcus Smart to be a cornerstone of this team, you gotta accept the bad with the good. This is bad, but its the byproduct of the good. So in my entitled right to judgement as fan, I say, "Meh."

ok good.  He needs to tell the league this also.  Tell them what player in their right mind would blatantly do that on the court

Smart plays hard and this is believable for sure

TP. Glad I'm not the only one seeing this correctly.
