Imo I think this is how the draft is going to shake out

Towns
Okafor
Porzingis
Mudiay
Johnson
Russell
Hezonja
WCS
Kamkinsky
Winslow
Oubre
Grant
Portis
Lyles
Harrell
Turner
Looney

The way things are going now (pending a complete meltdown), the Celtics will pick between 11-15.  And if the Celtics can't move up on draft night, will choose between one of the players in bold.

I think then , they will pick (15th) Harrell (6'8 250 pounds pf, 7'4 wingspan).  He would fit in with the current Celtics group like a glove.  Versatile defender, tough, high motor, improved jump shot and offensive game. Has won a NCAA championship and gold medal (Under 19 tourney)

With our 2nd 1st , (25th) Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (6'6 215 pounds sf/sg. 7'1 wingspan).  Another guy that would fit right in .  Can defend multiple positions, is a tenacious 1 on 1 defender,  has improved on his offensive game. However his main areas of expertise is on defense.  Both of these picks will add explosiveness, above the rim play.  Strengthen defensive depth.    With our 2nd round picks, Danny can afford to gamble on a few international players that could turn out to be steals down the line.

That's an interesting pair. I could see that.

And If Hollis-Jefferson is already taken then Justin Anderson. Another 6'6 , 225 pounds , 6'11 wingspan sf. Versatile defender, high motor, athletic and good 3 pt shooter

In your scenario I'd prefer Turner to Harrell if he's still on the board.  Too much talent and potential not to gamble on that late.  Even if he turned out to be a total bust it'd be worth the risk on a 7 footer who can shoot and block shots like Turner.

I've warmed to RHJ over the season.  Definitely wouldn't mind him with the Clips pick based on how things are currently projected.

I don't want Turner but I agree you'd have to take him over Harrell.

If he's healthy, Anderson should go before RHJ.  With Stevens being so 3pt happy, I'd prefer Anderson over RHJ.

Agree about Turner.
It's nice seeing him get exposed as overrated after having argued with fellow fans for years that he was overrated.. but I don't hate him. I'm looking forward to seeing him [...] bounce around to a couple more teams... eventually come back to Boston[...] and helps us as a role player until he runs himself out of the league.

I can't imagine Turner falling that far.  I would really hope Danny trades up if he falls to 12

I'm still hoping that WCS falls due to most of the teams in front of us having good 5's already, even if it's just to like 10 and we trade several of our picks to jump up and grab him.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I do. Check out his stats for the last 5 games of the season. Not very good.  Maybe ran out of gas? Injury?

He is a nice prospect but with an old players body.  He struggles running end to end.  Not very athletic nor quick

The players that we draft need to fit in with CBS system .  Unless they are that good, CBS is not going to change around what he has built so far for the player.

Can't see WCS dropping past 10 due to his potential/size/athleticism.   Still don't think he is a good fit under CBS, bc of his lack of skills on the offensive end

Its your opinion and I could be wrong (that Turner ends up being a better player).  But what is it about Harrell you don't like?

He is like a taller version of Jae Crowder with a longer wingspan/more explosiveness.  Our defense (ability to guard multiple positions, intensity, now add an  capable rim protector) would become that much better.

I don't see Harrell or RHJ as good fits in the CBS system.  Neither of them are anywhere close to being decent 3pt shooters.  Having to watch Sully shoot 3s is bad enough.

I think we will move up if we are #15 unless someone in the top 11 (Im including Oubre) falls. I suspect we will package either the 2s or the clips pick or maybe even KO/Sully to grab someone we prefer in the 7-12 range.

That being said if the draft pans out the way you suggest I wouldnt mind Harrel/ Jefferson. I think Jefferson is a super safe pick. he is going to be a very good defender in this league. period. So getting him in the 20s would be good as you know he can fill a role on your team. As for Harrell, the only thing that makes me hesitant is his height, but I love the wingspan and energy he plays with.

I do remember hearing some character stuff in years past is that all gone or is that something we should worry about?
