I think it is pretty hopeful to think that a top free agent is going to sign with the Celtics because of Crowder or Isaiah Thomas.  It is going to be really tough for us to attract a good FA this off season.  We need to do well with our picks, maybe trade some future picks for a disgruntled fringe star, hope we play better than expected next year, and then try to make the splash next off season.  In other words, be patient.

Understatement of the year right there.

TP for that post.  We need one of these and then hope that Stevens can work his magic on him.  We need talent in any form we can.

Let's put it like this:

Would you rather sign with

the Knicks who have a 2015 pick, a 31 year old Melo, Tim Hardaway Jr., Coach Fisher, and Phil

the Lakers who have a 72 year old Kobe, Julius Randle, 2015 pick, Jordan Clarkson, Coach Scott, and Kupchack

the Sixers with Noel, Embiid,  2015 pick, 2016 pickSS, Coach Brown, and Mr. Tank GM

or

the Celtics with Smart, Olynyk, Sully, 2015 pick, 2016 pickSSS, Coach Stevens, and Danny Ainge

Even the big free agents like Gasol or Aldridge might at least CONSIDER a situation like the Celtics offer. Especially if the Grizzles and Blazers make a first round exit, is it possible that they have max out their talent? Is that as far as those teams can go--Especially the Grizzles?
