This is for the 2015 offseason period.

The question is , why not?

Almost every player that has come to play for the Celts praises the org, fans and especially CBS.

Instead of Danny having to chase guys, I wonder how many will give Danny a call 1st to inquire

about signing with the team.

No -- no star talent to team up with.

for this offseason specifically, I'd have to agree.  nothing to draw a star here in terms of players to join with to make a contender.

If I;m an established A list NBA star then I'm not joining the celtics. Just not enough talent to compete for a championship next year. I would have to bring another stud with me be make it work.

If I'm a budding star looking to take the next step into true NBA stardom then yes I join the Cs. An example would be Harden when he was traded to OKC. He joined a team looking for a star took the role and ran with it. Jimmy Butler could be this type of player

Not even close. Only way any FA would come this off-season is if we overpay them baaadly.

Now if we could get lucky and pull off a trade for a disgruntled star, then we have a shot.

You can get a big name free agent if he is the sort of guy who thinks Brad Stevens is a potential top five coach.

Many NBA players and coaches have commented on how hard the Celtics play, how prepared they are, and good CBS is. The Celts seem to have a bunch of good guys on the team, great, consistent management, and great fans. Any player worth their salt should consider the Celtics. DeMarcus Cousins should beg to be traded to the Celtics.

DA may also be a problem. if you are a star who want to be in a place were you play for many years and hopefully retire (see Bryant, Wade, Nowitzki) than Boston is not the place for you.
And I understand today's players are more about understanding the business, and not too many players play in one team their whole career, but I think it is something they desire.

If somehow we paired our picks with Wallace+ for an all-star caliber player, then maybe.

Edit: Or pretty much what JH Truth already posted.

Would have to be a guy who respects Stevens or tradition, I do not see our guys being a draw.   Maybe a guy who wants to be the "man" or go to guy.

No -- no star talent to team up with.

No star but dont forget friends and relationship factor.

For example Jimmy Butler and Jae Crowder are good friends.

Also we have no stars? Isaiah Thomas is star material imo

Let me see if I get this. Jimmy Butler, one of the most sought after free agents of 2015 and who will essentially have his pick of teams, will decide where to play based on his friendship with Jae Crowder - a marginal NBA player who based on Danny's roster turnover over the last year has a roughly 10% chance of being on the team at the end of next year.

Honestly.

what? Jae Crowder is going nowhere . Danny knows how much CBS likes him and how much of a factor he has been in the 4th quarter. It would take Jae Crowder holding out and some other team offering him  7 million plus a season for the Celts to end ties with him

I think this is where I suscribe. A youngish guy looking to be "the man" of his own team.

The question then becomes, who else has the cap space and the "Come be our star!" pitch that Boston has to compete with...
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.
