I know that IT4 is killing it right now...21 points, 5.1 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game.  But look at what Mo Williams is doing:

21.7 pts, 8.7 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game.   :o  Those numbers alone are awesome but look at this:

45% FG
87% FT
40% 3P

Maybe Danny should have gotten him instead?

Mo Williams is having a really nice stretch, but he is also 32 and is what he is at this point in his career. Could be out of the league before the current Thomas contract ends. Definitely way happier to have IT

Ainge had several directions to choose from, but I'm pretty sure looking for decent players over 30 years old wasn't an option he considered.

Not to pick on you in particular but I personally find these "What if" scenarios extremely ridiculous. Mo Williams is 6 years older than Isaiah and becomes a free agent after the season is up. We got Isaiah essentially for free so it's not like we spent more to get him than it would have cost us to get Williams.

Ainge wants to compete this year and in the future. Isaiah helps him accomplish both, he helps the Celtics make a playoff push this year and then has the potential to be here for another four on a reasonable deal.

With Mo you're talking about another 0.7 points and about 3 more assists per game. It makes sense that Isaiah has less assists cause he looks to create his own shot especially in crunch time.

I love Isaiah and would prefer to root for the players we do have then daydream about what could have been.

Mo Williams 35,4 mpg
Isaiah Thomas 27,2 mpg.

Do you think Mo would average 35,4 minutes in Boston ?
