New England, which is three weeks away from its regular-season opener against Seattle, has yet to reach an agreement with Gonzalez.

Up until this past weekend, the two sides were not overly close and they had not had a lot of productive conversations, so we?ll see if that works out or not, Schefter said. It?s going to be interesting to track here because, like I said, the parameters are in place. It should not be hard right now to get a deal done for Christian Gonzalez and so far it has been.

We have the regular-season looming in a few weeks. There?s always a push by players and teams to get deals done before the regular-season begins. We?ll see if these two sides can engage and get one done.

I have a feeling it'll be a gut-punch and he signs with the Cowboys or Giants or Bengals or someone

Gonzo isn?t a free agent, so the Patriots would have to trade him like the cowboys did with Parsons.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Zero percent chance he hits free agency.
