I think we should stop focusing so much on the regular season as well. This team was really good in the regular season the last two years and could not get out of the second round.

I think it is tough to argue that this team is worse than the team from last years regular season. Their record may be worse because I do think the team benefited from a lot of teams trying to tank and I do think we will rest our top guys more this year. But I just do not think it matters in the regular season because I do feel this team is worse than last years playoff team that could not get out of the first round.

Granted I do sadly think Moranis has been proven right with the fact that this team just did not have enough talent. Unless Hugo develops into a borderline all star I think it is going to be tough to compete in the near future. And I think that would have been the case even if we had kept JB.

nothing's been proven yet.

Yeah.  The team probably isn't good enough to compete for a championship now, but I think they would have been with Brown and Robinson.
I'M THE SILVERBACK GORILLA IN THIS MOTHER... AND DON'T NONE OF YA'LL EVER FORGET IT!

And could have improved their final flaw -- bench shooting / scoring -- by making some trades. By trading some of the youth & future picks.

Easy route to being one the top team in the East and one of the 3-4 top teams in the league.

"Impact on winning" is the new "Optionality".  It must have done well with the marketing test groups.

Quote
People talk about veteran leadership, and they talk about how important vets are," Stevens said. "And my argument to that would be good vets are really important. Guys that really have a great understanding of where they are in their career, how they impact winning and the appropriate amount of expectations from the individual standpoint, and I think that that's what you get with Mike [Conley]. And he still, every time he plays, has a big impact on winning."

Stevens continued.

"And so I think the balance of being able to play at a high level (and) not needing to play every minute of every game is an incredibly valuable thing, and it's usually reserved for guys that have a good perspective on life. And Mike does ? he certainly has that."
Brads been using variations of this term for like 8 years.

Has he been using it on 36 and 39 year olds, though?
I mean its really not an uncommon phrase. What do you expect him to say? I think these guys are bad at basketball?
